Scat Mats??

Have any of you tried Scat Mats??? I am thinking about getting one to keep Connor off my kitchen table (I dont mind him lying there, but his claws are RUINING the wood):( I figure after I have used it in the kitchen I can move it into the lounge and train him to stay away from the home theatre, and then move it to the entrance hall and train him to stay away from the motorbike :sigh:

Has anyone tried these mats??? Do they work??? I will need the big size, which will cost at least $50 on eBay, so I dont want to buy it if it isn't worth the money.

As an alternative you could try those clear plastic carpet protectors and turn them "pokey" side up. Aly recommends this alot and seems to have a lot of success with it.

I use one on my kitchen counter at night--some kitty was peeing up there in the dark. It's worked great so far. I zapped myself once just to see how bad it was...didn't really hurt, but it was definately noticeable.
