How old is Zeus now? I'm so glad you got him and gave him a happy, healthy, forever home. We'd love to see a picture of him if you can get one posted!

How sad! When my family got our Great Dane mix, many many years ago, we got her third-hand, from people who didn't know the first thing about the nutritional needs of a Great Dane pup. Not only was she tiny, she had scars on her face from their elderly poodle, she had rickets from the malnutrition - and, get this - they had been teaching her to jump up into their arms when they clapped their hands!!!! Like I said, not a clue. I am glad that Zeus, like Gracie, has made his way to a real home. Gracie, by the way, ended up about 145 pounds, and lived to be 14 1/2 - unheard of for a Great Dane - and was a very happy, goofy puppy all her life!

I am glad Zeus is okay now! I found it funny you compared him to a bag of sugar; when I was born, I was five pounds, and my grandmother called me her little five pound bag of sugar http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

A 5lb bag of sugar perhaps, but a 1000 times sweeter, I'm sure! And now a life filled with love and caring and companionship. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif Not doubt he will THRIVE and grow to be the biggest doggie ever! In body as well as in spirit. Bless you for giving Zeus the home ALL doggies' deserve!

Happy to hear that Zues turned into a dog that lived up to his namesake!

My dog Tide was only 4.5 pounds when we adopted him from a rescue place at 8 weeks old and I remember thinking he was so tiny. He grew into a thriving 46# dog, but I still like to look back at his puppy pictures and remember how small he once was! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif
