I am at the end of my tether, so I am writing this thread with hope someone has some ideas or alternative medicene to help my problem.

Everytime at this time of year I get bad hayfever, spring of course here in NZ, I use Alanase nasal spray really early on , its a preventative medicene to help combat hayfever , and I take antihistimanes, however this year and last, I have still had real problems, my nose is permanently blocked on one side, and I have sinus headaches and feeling somewhat miserable.

It is possible I have a polyp, but would have to go to a specialist to find out for sure, I have an option of maybe getting my sinuses washed out, my mother has been down these roads herself, and infact had a sinus operation earlier this year, it was unsuccessful, and often is.

I am sick of feeling so yuck, and just donot know what to do to help alleviate the problems, any suggestions would be welcome, I do natural nasal inhalations as well, but if anyone has tried some alternative medicene successfully, please , please let me know SOON, thanks for your time.:)

I'm sure you've already tried it, but Flonase has worked wonders for me. I too, have had sinus problems all my life, and used to stay stuffed up all the time.

I use the Flonase year round.

Can you have allergy testing done? If you can isolate exactly what's causing your hayfever (rye grass etc), then an allergist can start desensitising you and hopefully reduce your symptoms.

That's a longer term fix. Short term, I take Zyrtec if I start wheezing from allergies but it gets expensive to take every day.

I have not heard of flonase, but I will see if we have it in nz, it might be the same kinda of nasal spray I already use, just have a different name, Miss Meow, I know that I am already allergic to grasses, among other things, I guess I will just have to go and see a specialist if it does not improve, coz I have had enough of feeling so miserable, I do take clarentyne, for the allergy, same kind of product as Zyrtec, but I can also get another allergy pill for 3dollars for 30 so that is good. THANKS for trying to help.
