Ebay had an advert/lot for kittens for sale.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2361257191&category=301

Thank God, that a friend from an English Cat site saw the lot and complained to Ebay and asked for help on an English forum.

Seeing as I'm a nosey person, I rang the seller and had the phone rung up on me.

So I rang his mother...that is right his mother.

Turns out teenage son with unspayed cat, thought advertising kittens on Ebay would be an easy way to shift unwanted kittens

I explained to Mother that if she needed help spaying mother or transporting kittens to the shelter of their choice free of charge, Me & Steve would help.

I also explained the reason shelters charge so much for kittens and what happens to a lot of cheap kittens. i.e. Sold to labs, used as dog bait or most common a kitten mother pregeant and on the streets.

I am just so angry. I have complainted to Ebay. But I am literally shaking with rage. But for the grace of god, where would those kittens be.

PS. Ebay has added an amendment to bid, saying don't buy this lot but they haven't closed the lot.

This makes me soo mad! I just can't believe someone would do that!! He must be one stupid person. I'm glad that you contacted his mother. Hopefully they will get the mother cat spayed asap and the kittens will find good homes.

I didn't know that ebay would allow the sale of live animals!!! I'm shocked! Thank you for taking the time to help these poor babies! Was the teens mother agreeable and willing to take help from you??? Hopefully ebay will not allow this again but if they do I'm sure we could get lots of people willing to blast them! I doubt it would last very long!!

She took my name and number and said she would ring if the kits weren't homed by word of mouth.

I just hope she rings me if needed.

I also offered to ferry mother cat to be spayed if she needed.

She sounded nice but mentioned this was the second litter mother cat had had  and that SHE had enough of the kittens. Poor cat. :(

It is illegal to sell livestock on ebay. But they don't check every lot description, or else they would of disallowed this lot ?

What did the mother think with the first set of kittens? You just have to wonder sometimes.

Well hopefully she will get the mom nuetered and take the kittens to the shelter.

I still wonder about people sometime.

I clicked on e-bay to see what was up. They have "item has ended" which I assume means that e-bay has put a stop to it. Let's hope so!

Ebay doesn't allow it and they end those auctions when they find them. It takes them a little while to police all the auctions so please report that kind of thing anytime you can.
But, they do not allow the sale of live animals.
