One of my friends, is getting a English Springer Spaniel!!! :) He asked me, if I would help him look for some ESS rescue sites for him, and I said I would be more than happy, to help him. So... do any of you, know any Springer Rescue websites? Thank you all so much! ;)

Sarah & Sadie May,
I use the search engine at google.com for
most of my searchs for different sites. http://www.google.com
I typed in English Springer Rescue and a bunch of good rescue sites came up.
Hope this helps your friend.ESS is an
great breed & there are many needing good
homes...

A friend of mine adopted an English Springer Spaniel from a rescue organization in Massachusetts. (I think the dog actually came from Maine. There was a dog breeder there who was training the dogs for hunting and abusing them in the process.) He was shut down and she got Major (at Rainbow Bridge now, RIP) I'll ask her where she got him. She lives in Boston and is on vacation until Wednesday so I'll have to get back to you then. He was a beautiful dog and she said the organization she went through was wonderful.

For those of us who remember Maddie, it was www.springerrescue.org (http://www.springerrescue.org) who was involved in the heroic effort to try to save her.

Oh geez, I remember Maddie, that was a heartwrenching story. I sure wish she could have been like our Hope, and overcome the odds.

My suggestion was what Liz suggested and that's to go to a search engine and type in English Springer Spaniel. You might try Petfinder too, www.petfinder.com (http://www.petfinder.com) you can go breed specific on that one too.

I just went onto Petfinder and found by putting my zip code in, that there were 117 English Springer Spaniels for adoption.

Sarah & Sadie May,
You're very welcome for any help that the
Google search can find for your friend.

RachelJ,
Can't believe I didn't think of the ESS
Rescue group that tried so very hard for Maddie !!! Think I cried & prayed like
everyone else as we were told of all her
ups & downs. Even posted a poem for her
in the follow-up memorial page. That story
touched me deeply...That story also stiffened
my resolve to NEVER EVER "look the other way'
I can hardly believe that nobody else heard her plantive cries...
They are a Great Rescue Organization .
