I'm staying at my parents' house this week after living in Ft. Wayne for 5 months. I've visited for the day 3 times since I moved. Their dog, Gus, is very happy to have me back. He likes to dance with me, and play, too.
I thought maybe he'd treat me like a stranger because I've been gone so long. Happily, the cats still love me, too.
Do cats and dogs have a long term memory for their people? Would they still remember me after being gone a year?
