It's been over a year - So no.

That's an interesting find, I wonder if they're going to be able to find out who it is...

Wouldn't construction workers smell it while working?

Something like that should only smell for a few weeks, so if he hanged himself a year ago, then there wouldn't be any odor.

Even so, wouldn't there be people on campus anyways? like when schools are closed here, there's always still teachers and people on campus.

An older guy passed away down the street from us.. no one knew about, until the smell came -- and you could smell it around the whole neighborhood.

Just seems a bit fishy to me...

True...maybe he did it during a break. *shrug* It is a pretty strong, pervading smell.

I am reserving judgment on this story - it may be a hoax or a rumor.

As for the issue of smell - a construction site has many many odiferous things happening that may have masked the smell when it did smell.

I don't know what to make of the story. But I do have annecdotal evidence of a dead body going undetected. At the university where I work cleaning staff entered a dorm room (in a suite) and found a dead student. He had died of an apparent overdose and they suspect it had been two months. The dorm has very thin wall, and is not well built, yet no one (including his suite mates?) noticed he was dead for two months.

Sad.

I would hope body would notice if i turned up missing for two months.......
