View Full Version : A year ago today...Dandy came to live with us!!!

We have had my little Dandy girl now for one year. Although, it feels like she has lived with us much longer, b/c she is such a special part of our family.

We went to the animal shelter looking for a black male cat...and she just reached out to us at the shelter...literally, her paws were hanging out of the cage...and she was purring away. She chose us. She was a keeper. We were the first ones to put our name on the list for her and i hoped and hoped that we would get her....i finally got the call that we could come pick her up and i couldn't have been happier. i remember that day like it was yesterday. She was so tiny...6 lbs. we were thinking she was around 1 year old at the time...so i am considering her to be 2 years old today as well. She is now 9.5 lbs. and has a good life with her brother Guinness...(and Dale ;), although, i am sure she would have rathered me stick to cats for her siblings ;))

She is the only little girl that i have right now, so she holds a very special place in my heart. Here are some of the very first pics i ever took of my little sweet DandyLion:

Anyway, i am so happy that i found her...we really lucked out with both she and Guinness. Time to go find her and give her a big hug!! :)

Hi Robyn, I am so glad things have worked so nicely for you and DandyLion. She is a keeper. She is one lucky girl to have found such a loving home.

I thought she was part Turkish Angora...she has alot of the characteristics...and looks.

Anyway, here is the link to the first post about her...a year ago :) It has Gabe in it too :) Rest in Peace Sweet Gabe :)

Dandy ~ Hi, it's your grandma! :) You are such a sweet little pretty girl and I couldn't be happier for you and for Robyn! I remember the day you stuck your paws out of that cage as if to say "Over here! Pick me! Pick me!" Congratulations on your first year with your new forever family. We love you lots! :)

Your life sure has changed a lot in the year since Dandy came, hasn't it, Robyn? She was the start of many great additions to your family!! :)

Sweet Dandy, you still stick your paws out of the laundry basket. We see not nearly enough of you and Guinness these days, little princess:)

awwww...what a pretty little princess! She looks so soft and sweet! I am fairly new here so have never seen her. Beautiful!

First off, let me say that I love her name Dandy's name and second I absolutely love the pictures of her.

Happy cativersary Dandy It looks like you have gotten your prople well adjusted to you. I can understand because you are so darn cute. Who cold resist you.

I really like the one on the laundry basket. However, I like this one too. It just lookes like her head is really big.:eek: I like my caption too.
