View Full Version : Pet love Poetry

I have a poem I wrote for April, my Shih-Tzu, and I used it for my signature one day. Since it made such a long signature, I thought I would use it to start an intersting thread. I hope everyone will try to add to this and make this a long, rhythmic thread. Use your great love for your pet to inspire your master piece.

APRIL DELIGHT: MY BABY SHIH-TZU

MOST LITTLE BABIES WERE BORN
WITH LEGS OF ONLY TWO
BUT NOT MY BABY
SHE'S NOT LIKE ME OR YOU
FOR SHE WAS BORN WITH LEGS OF FOUR
YET SHE'S THE ONE THAT I ADORE.

SHE IS GOLD AND WHITE
A HEAVEN SENT TREASURE
BY NIGHT SHE LIES AGAINST ME
CURLED UP IN MY ARMS
PERFECT LOVE WITH PUPPY CHARMS.

PURE AND INNOCENT, GENTLE AND SWEET
STEALS THE HEARTS OF EVERYONE SHE MEETS
APRIL DELIGHT, MY BABY SHIH-TZU
JUST WANT THE WORLD TO KNOW
HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU.

Jennifer, I'm glad you started this thread, I know there is a lot of good writers on Pet talk and this would be a good place for them to post some of their work. You know I love all your poetry, I love poetry.:)

Thank you Willie. I apreciate that.:)

They're Always There

When you're happy, they're always there to celebrate with you
When you're at your computer, they're there at your feet
What better friend can we find; a friend who's always true?
Wagging their tails, only hoping for a tummy rub or treat.

When we cry they're there to love our tears away
They never grumble; never disagree
They just infect us with their happiness, ready to play
More loyal than our two-legged friends can be.

When the world been unusually cruel
They are there to make us smile
Life is just that way, as a general rule
But out furry friends will always go that extra mile.

Always remember when you're away from home
They are there anxiously awaiting our return
They're sad and lonely when we are gone
This is an important lesson for us to learn.

amoore, thank u so much, you are very kind, and rio & me, I liked that, and that is very true. Thank you both for your responses...I'm afraid that my poetry idea didn't inspire too many others to reply...I thought more pet lover's would respond. I know Pet Talk has many good writers, so that's why I thought more people would reply. Also thank you trayi52 (Willie).:)

You sit up so pretty at my feet
You're so cute when I arise you steal my seat
You're beside me at night
With your face against mine
You look at me contently
And how your eyes shine!
At meal times you'll do any trick for just a tiny bite
With all your loving ways, inside my heart, you are a light
You are like my child
So gentle and mild
You are not just a dog or a pet
The most loyal friend I've ever met
I'll always do all I can to take the best care of you
And now, sweet puppy, could you return my shoe?:D

Now 5 almost 6 years later is you a big dog
A monsterdog
My dog
You have bite me lot of times
You hurt me but i still love you
Bubblan, you are my dog
I still love you but we have to sell you, you understand...
We cant have a dog like that, its dont working...
My little puppy whit dark blue eyes
My first dog, you my Springer Spaniel baby-boy

You my dog, Bubblan

:) Thank you so much for your input to this thread!!! I am so pleased to see the writers of Pet Talk contributing to this. I liked your poem very much, but it is very sad...so sorry that you have to give your doggy another home because of uncontrollable behavior. I know this hurts you very much to inspire you to write a poem for him. I can tell by reading your poem that you feel very hurt that you must let him go. Good luck in the future with finding a good home for Bubblan and good luck with having more success with behavior problems in your next doggy.

Why is it that I have on my posts that i have 98 posts three or four times? I was supposed to be at 100 by now; I should be a citizen by now.

:) Okay, I see now. I have what I am supposed to have. Each time you post, the number changes on all posts, so I see that now. Sorry about the confusion. :)
