Mooch went to the vet with a friend of mine today, she lossing the hair on her legs. We just noticed it a couple days ago so I figured she had some kind of skin infection. My friend offered to take her in for me sense I couldn't do it right away. She came back and said that the vet told her it was just fron old age.

Do dogs lose their hair from old age? I've had many of dogs and none of them had hair loss like this from old age. Their hair got thinner but never all in one spot. Her 2 back legs are almost bald and her front are showing signs of small hair loss.

When Mooch was a puppy she was set on fire and at that time the vet said if she made it, she might have hair loss because of it. But for 14 years now she had hair, so for her to lose it now seem odd. Maybe it has something to do with her past, who knows.

I am going to call and check with the vet again but in the mean time was wondering what you all thought.

My neighbors two RB Labs lost hair on their "Elbows" and legs. On their legs because they would chew on them -- which my neighbor said was because of arthritis.

p.s. - Look at the "Meetings" section... ;)
