My friends have been celebrating the return of light for many years, and now we do too. :)

December 22nd. is the shortest day of the year, and from the 23rd., the days start getting longer again. :D

On the evening of the shortest day, candles are lit throughout the house (also the Christmas tree) and good food, wine and cakes are put on the table. Games are being played in the evening. So cosy, don't you think? :) Their children love it!

Wonderful celebration idea!!!
I think I would like to celebrate that day too!!!
I hate it when the days get so much shorter--it makes me sad!!
I'm going to celebrate this year!!!

Randi that does sound cozy. :) Good food, wine and cakes! What could be better!. I had never heard of that holiday but I enjoy learning about other people's traditions! Tonight is the night that we turn our clocks back one hour and say goodbye to Daylight Savings Time for now. Most people hate to see this happen because it means more darkness. I guess we'll just need to light some of those candles!
