Does anyone have any instructions or blueprints for agility equipment? I'm making a rat cage in school right now, but as soon as I'm done I'd like to build some agility stuff.

Thanks!

Ooh Good stuff! I think I'm going to email them again because I don't think my last email worked lol. My computer always gets messed up when I click direct links to hotmail.

Not offhand but I do know there are some out there.

However like I always say I do not recommend doing any agility at home until you've been through a class with trained professionals showing you what to do. Also I only recommend making jumps, a tire or weaves non of the contact obsticals because they have to be made exactly right or they can be a safety hazard.

Yes, I'd be going to a class first. The only thing I can make are the jumps, the tunnel, and possibly the weave poles. Maybe I could make the tire if I could find a tire..hmm. I'll have to buy the rest. :( Everything is so expensive.

Make a tunnel? You might be thinking of the chute, the tunnels that are used in agility are basiclly big tubing from heating ducs and stuff like that.

Good point. My good friend Laura S. does agility with her Golden Retrievers, her dad made a course for her at home, wow- does it ever cost a lot! Most of it is made out of PVC, except for the A-frame, and see-saw. She told me it came out to be around $5,000 of equipment.

She as some good agility pictures posted on ImageStation, but I can't find them, maybe I will post them later- they are really neat.

I do agree that agility should not be learned solely on one's own. *S* But some small jumps and weave poles are fun to have in ones backyard.

I also found a tunnel at Toys R Us.

Maybe that's what I'm thinking of lol. My teacher said that its wouldn't be hard to make.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll look at the sites.

I just thought of something, lol. If I do go to that training school, I'll be learning how to teach agility. Whoo hoo lol. :D So I CAN teach the dog by myself. Too bad I have to wait until his bones are fully developed. I'll be too excited!

I'll be making mine mostly out of wood. That's why I can't make alot, because most of the equipment needs something stronger, like steel, to hold it up. I also can't make it very tall, because the poles won't fall like a PCV pipe would. I'd be paranoid that my dog would be injured. But if I do make weave poles, they'd definatly be PCV. The rat cage I'm making right now is 5 feet tall, and only costs 55 dollars, so I don't think the agility should cost that much.
