Okay folks, post em here: Your deepest, darkest confessions that you'd never let anyone know in your non-cyber life. Nothing dirty, but I put in the warning because I thought it was a fantastic idea for threads with the potential to include semi-raunchiness.

I'll start:

1. I am 28 years old and I listen to Britney, JLo, rap and hip hop. My favorite magazine is Us Weekly. I attended both Britney's movie and the Kelly & Justin Movie.

2. I am addicted to reality television, although I consider it to be horrible- I just love the sociology.

3. I have a true sickness with shoes. I own over 200 pairs. I hide them in other rooms and switch out the boxes in the closet so Chris doesn't notice new ones.

4. I sometimes take naps to pass the time between meals because I think about food so much.

Logan

The only thing I see that we have in common is our shoe fetish.......but I don't have 200 pairs of them. But I would!!! :)

I am not really a 16 year old girl. I am a perverted old man who likes to go to parties wearing plaid skirts and white blouses. I'm sorry to have lied to you this whole time. :(

:D hehe joking!

1. I like to watch 7th Heaven. I think it's one of the most poorly written shows ever (completely inconsistent with bad character rotation) but I simply cannot stop myself.

2. I also watch Charmed. I know it's garbage, but I love it. Deeply.

There's gotta be more...

2kitties
10-22-2003, 03:51 PM
Oh Soledad, I watch both Charmed and 7th. I think 7th is like Little House, which I grew up on.

I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I've seen every single episode. I followed the mythology. I honestly consider it one of the most intelligently written shows ever on television. Unfortunatly, it suffered from a stupid name. Anyone who followed it, however, would probably agree that the writing and the mythology was extremely well done, and the metaphor of teen life was brilliant.

Confession-I stole two road cones...then put them back the next night...

Confession- I like guys with spiky hair..ALL OF THEM!! (I wont tell any of my offline friends because then they would know all my chrushes...*blush*

Confession- I moved canada! and mexico. Canada is now all of the land east of the missisippi..Mexico is in california....(I got a map of the internet...rotated North america, and told my friend that they changed them..)

-Not finished but thats it for now.

Something I would never tell people in the non-cyber world?

Hmmm................I really don't have anything to hide, BUT............

I would never let them know how many posts I have on PT, and how much PT means to me.........

They'd think I'm nuts! :o:o:o

OMG........I have something in common with you too!! I mostly watch it because Helen likes it, but I find myself enjoying it too. :)

My other television confession is that my favorite tv shows are West Wing and Law and Order. In fact, other than 7th Heaven, they are really the only other shows that I watch with any consistency. West Wing might surprise you since I am not a Democrat in any stretch of the imagination except for the fact that I am questioning the death penalty at this point in my life.

Nothing even semi-raunchy, please!

True confessions - I missed my bunny soooo much when she was at the vet's for a day and a half - but at least I know people here will appreciate that!

curiosityrats
10-22-2003, 06:34 PM
When my rat Mack had pneumonia, I spent $700 for the vet (3 nights in an emergency clinic on oxygen + meds + x-rays + two trips to my regular vet). I didn't sleep at all that week. I skipped three classes. I ate maybe two packs of Ramen noodles and a couple glasses of Hawaiian punch (which I shared with Mack). (He survived and recovered, BTW. The vet had said he wouldn't.)

If my parents knew I did that, sheesh, I'd get ****! (The typical topic of conversation is if I am eating right and getting enough sleep... Of course I am. LOL) And I don't want anyone to think my babies are a burden, so I just don't mention it...

1.) I LOVE Nick JR. Cartoons. Dora the Explorer being my favorite. I also LOVE Bob the Builder.

2.) I'm so obsessed with my dogs, that i'm constantly talking about them in school and so on, even I catch myself.

10-22-2003, 06:57 PM
I love Disney and Nickolodeon cartoons! For Nick, there's Spongebob and the Fairly Oddparents that I watch. For Disney...I laugh at almost anything Disney. Weekenders, House of Mouse, That's So Raven etc...and I love Even Stevens. I just recently started watching it and it has me laughing! :p I don't care for Lizzie though.

I also love CSI. I know it's not a huge confession but I don't know many people who like the show as much as me. :o

I would also never admit to going on a messageboard like PT. I wouldn't hear the end of it. Only two of my closest friends really know.

I watch Nickelodeon...Fairly Odd Parents being my fav.

I have a HUGE crush on a guy I've known all my life.

There's more...I'll come back.

LOL I tell absolutely everyone about Pet Talk. My friends always tell me to shut up, because I could probably go on forever. :o I even log on to PT when I'm in class, so people will crowd around and look at the replies with me (creepy I know). I always get "do you like pets or something?" Yes...got a problem with that? lol.

My confession is that I'm obsessed with Pet Talk. When I see my kids or husband coming, I switch screens really quick so they won't know!

Also - I'm getting new wedding/engagement rings since Max broke my finger and now it's huge. I'm not going to tell anybody - but the engagement ring is going to be cubic zirconia!!!!! Hey - why waste all the $ when CZ looks just as good?

i'm hooked on most of the wb tv shows that are an hour long...7th heaven being one of them (even though NOONE can act on that show).

i've seen every episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

My cat lives with me in my apartment 'incognito', and has for the past 4 years.

i can't cook.

and at the big WTO riot (4 years ago in Seattle), i went downtown to see what was happening because i didn't have cable tv and couldn't watch it on the news.

Oh my Gosh! So many of you are like me. I don't tell people the extent of PT either. At the most I'm like "Oh, it's just this site I browse everyonce in a while."

My confession is that I'm obsessed with Pet Talk. When I see my kids or husband coming, I switch screens really quick so they won't know!

That's me too! My husband snuck and found out that I have over a thousand posts. He wouldn't quit making fun of me. So I took PetTalk out of favorites to discourage him.

I wish you guys could hear Mike right now. He's in the shower giving Teddy a bath. He's singing to Teddy and making all these cheesy noises. He'd kill me if he knew I'd told anyone so I have to keep that in PT.

That is what I dread the most! I don't want anyone to know how many posts I have here! I don't think they'll exactly care if I *occasionally* visit a pet/animal site, but when I come to think of what they'd do if they know I have over 3000 posts, gosh, NO WAY am I telling anyone that. I would NEVER hear the end of it. They'd probably continue harrassing me about it until I'd be 80 years old! LOL LOL

I got 'chided' when I confessed at work that I went into a depression when Shaianne died, b/c she was Just a dog, so now I don't talk about it unless it is with my close close animal loving friends.
I have a thing for men in uniform!!! *sigh* goes off into dream land and that's all I am confessing on that one to keep it clean!!!

I am obsessed with my makeup/body spray collection. It makes me feel/look/smell good!!! Then I feel better about myself.

Oh I love blue stuff in the kitchen too....

Obsessions:
Before I came to PetTalk I told nobody that I loved to give my cats a kiss on their furry noses.

And still I never tell anybody that when we are alone, the cats are allowed on the table.

But I now tell some people that they sleep in the bed.

And now: something my husband may never find out: When he's away, I buy some ready made spaghetti sauce (Miracoli) and have a big spaghetti dinner for myself. He thinks I am the perfect do-everything-from-scratch cook and don't use the stuff that comes in glasses and powders:eek: Now you can blackmail me:eek:

yes that's right, i'm a coffee snob! i disdain instant coffee, it's like ... well, looking at a picture of a cat and petting it, pretending it's a real cat. instant coffee isn't even coffee in my opinion, it's brown water. and there are brands of coffee that should be recalled as a threat to public health. coffee creamer is not that powdered stuff in a packet or jar, that's soybean oil. creamer, real cream for coffee is half and half. that powdered stuff is just wasted chemical by products from instant coffee plants. PEOPLE!!!! learn how to make a good cup of coffee before you offer to make it for your date..(ahem)

This is a secret that no one in this house knows and I hope they never find out. Now are you curious? haha! One morning I was in the dining room and heard a hacking sound in the kitchen. Trevor was in the middle of the kitchen table (a place hubby detests seeing him anyway  ) and he had just brought up a hairball inches from hubby's place at the table! I don't think either hubby or my son would ever want to eat at that table again! :D

True Confessions Ummmmm....

I have more pictures of my dogs than I have of my son.

I am also a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fan (Angel too)

I am a terrible slob. Since I live alone - I don't find it all that important. :o

I spend more money in a year on dog toys than I do on clothing for myself.

I take my dogs to the vet more often than I go to the doctor.

My friends at work think I am nuts because of the way I talk about my dogs, but I don't care.

I have about 20 books on dog behaviour/training. I find it a facinating subject. Especially since I adopted Penny Lane - and discovered her neurosis (sp?)

I once had my drivers license suspended for not paying a ticket and had to go back to driving school and retake my road test. (I was young and stupid:o )

I am a nut when it comes to the mispronunciation of words. Like putting a "b" in supposedly or an "r" in wash.

I'm sure there are a great deal more, but enough embarrassment for one day.

I know you're getting some flack for this, so I'll jump on your side, T_M. By my count you're 17 years old. Sounds to me like you're having a perfectly normal teenage experience. I'm not saying it's right for teens to go out and get drunk. So nobody start flaming me. But I'm not condemning you because you experienced something the most of us did as well.

It bothers me that 13 and 14 years olds are having sex and drinking and doing drugs. But, sorry folks, I'm not going to say that a 17 year old who has experiemented with alcohol is in trouble or has bad parents.

Let's see....I am like a lot of you with Pet Talk. If I want to tell someone about a pt doggie or kitty, I usually say something like, "I have this friend in Ohio" and go on about the dog or cat--the people I work with think I know people all over!!!!! My online times on PT are consistent with my husband's work schedule--he knows I come here often, but when I'm home alone, it's all the time!!!!

**I also watch 7th Heaven--and I cannot stand Lucy!!!!!!

**I watch Nick Jr. all the time also--it keeps me happy--so much better than watching drama all the time!!

**I watch repeats of Beverly Hills 90210 and Saved by the Bell

**I sit around all day in my pajamas unless I absolutely have to go somewhere

**I can be very, very nasty to someone I do not like, especially if I have to work with them

**I hate mispronunciations and incorrect grammar

**I am a slob

**I hate paying bills, if it were up to me, they would never get paid

**I'm pretty lazy

I can't really think of any good ones, at least that I won't get lectured for, so that's my list for now:p

And, Jynelle, I don't think there's anything wrong with you having been drunk before--many teenagers do it, just don't make a habit out of it:)

wolfsoul
10-23-2003, 10:19 AM
I agree, I'd think most teens in our society get drunk by the time they are 17.

Weird thing though --- I hate alcohol ('cept coolers :o ) and yet whenever we had a party, my dad would actually try to get me to drink. Only because he wanted to see me run like hell and spit it out though lol. I was the only one of my friends who didn't try the slammers, and they ran to the toilet and spat it all out. Suuure it tastes like 7 up. Pssht.

*I love buffy the vampire slayer, and I used to get my aunt to tape it for me every saturday. Now I decided that it's too much work and I'm going to wait another 4 years until it comes out on video. :o

*I love Rugrats

*I can't be mean to anyone because my conscience is always there, pestering me. Even when people tell me my rats are discusting I just say "No they aren't" in a whiny voice and try to laugh a little.

* I'm obsessed with musicals. But mostly Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (No, it's not porn).

*I'm really disorganized. Literally every single report card since grade 1 will say so.

My vice...I love romance novels..of course Joey thinks they're cheesy trash novels...maybe they are, but they're fun to read. Not only do I read them, I collect them. I must have close to 1000 paperbacks. While Joey has utter disdain for my romance novels, I find some to be extremely well written. And really...any author that can capture my attention from the first page and keep it throughout the entire novel without me skipping ahead is good author in my book.

I love WB shows...7th Heaven, Gilmore Girls, Charmed, Angel, One Tree Hill. I also like to watch those teenager type Disney movies. Don't know why, but I do.

I also like to watch Soaps...so much so that I got digital cable so I could have the SoapNet channel and watch my soaps in the evening. I've been watching General Hospital for about 10 years now and I also keep up with All My Children and One Life to Live.

Oh drat! I recently bought some pyrex for the motorhome. I had a choice of blue or clear...and I bought the clear! How could I have been so foolish? I didn't know the blue was so sought after. Anybody know how you break pyrex? ;) :D

The only thing I can think of for the true confessions is....and you young uns, don't try this at home.....I once got a ticket for giving someone...uummmm...showing somebody they were #1 in my book with sign language...if you know what I mean. ;) :o I had had a really really bad day at work, and this driver was just really aggrivating me to no end, and my horn didn't work and she was beeping at me, so what was I to do? And how did I know that a cop was right there watching the whole thing? And how was I to know that letting someone know that they are #1 is illegal in Chicago - it's called inciteful actions because it could incite trouble I guess. Anyway, as soon as the cop pulled me over I started ranting and raving to him about how he should be going after the other person and how she probably doesn't have insurance or anything like that and how could you pull over little ol' "does everything by the book" me? Needless to say he wasn't impressed with my yelling at him, so I got a ticket - made my day as you can guess.

I had to go to traffic school to keep it off my driving record. Now whenever I see someone showing me that I'm #1, I quickly look around for a cop...and of course there's never one there when you need one.

Me! Me! *raises hand*

I will confess...........that I broke one of my mom's pyrex bowls 2 weeks ago. I thought they were unbreakable............they have fallen on the hard floor so many times and never broke. But I was wrong. One day, just one day, they'll hit so hard that they'll shatter in a million pieces.

Just two weeks ago, my mom went out shopping.........dad was at work, brother was..........I don't remember..........in his room? Or maybe he wasn't home either. All I remember, is that I was alone, in the kitchen, emptying the dish washer. I was angry about something...........I can't remember what......but I was upset, about something totally silly (was a hormonal day......hate when that happens). Anyway, because I was upset, I was *cough cough* emptying the dishwasher rather roughly. I wanted to get it over with fast, so I could finish, sweep the kitchen, and leave the *chores room*. Hehehe. Maybe I was a little too rough........I'm not usually rough, I'm usually slow and take my time, but that day it was meant to be. It was the pyrex's last day on this planet. Poor thing. I picked up 4 pyrex bowls at a time and took them to the cabinet........dropping one on the way accidently, and dropping it hard. I tried to grab it, but missed. It fell, shattered all over the kitchen, and I looked at it in dismay, thinking *wow.........I actually broke a pyrex!* He he he. Rest in peace sweet pyrex. You were a material thing, and we have like 25 other ones or so, so you are not missed. Not at all. :p

I cleaned the kitchen carefully, making sure they were no left over glass splinters that could injure someone on the floor. I wanted to leave the kitchen fast, but ended up staying for another 1/2 an hour. That's what I got for being a bad girl. I learned my lesson. I won't be rough with dishes again. :p

When my mom came home, I told her. She just shook her head, and said nothing. She didn't care. :p

But my point in this story is, I KNOW HOW TO BREAK PYREX! If you need any help or assistance, just come to me. ;) He he he he

Ps. How'd this thread change to pyrex? :p We have all clear ones....no blue.

I broke down my brothers door.

He locked it in anger and I was just pounding on it and yelling when the frame broke off the wall and fell in.

I told my parents (and appologized) when they came home, offered my saved money up front to pay for it, and they went and yelled at my brother for locking his door. ;)

I watch Charmed, Smallville, Angel and now Tarzan religiously. I've missed a few seasons of 7th Heaven so I have no clue what's going on. The other 4 shows my mom tapes for me and we watch them together. :D

Used to watch Buffy together when it was on the aire. We miss it. :(

When I was in college I would tape Digimon (and even ask my mom to tape it for me if I was out of town). I was so obsessed with the 1st and 2nd seasons of that show (I have posters and toys too). :o

China Doll, I watch all the ABC soaps too. Have since 1970. When I got a day job, years and years ago, I bought my first VCR to tape them.

I once carpeted my whole house twice in 3 days. Didn't like the color of the first one. I sold it to a friend for $600. taking a several thousand dollar loss.

Tom and I talk 'for' our kids. I tell him Lucee says she is so very sorry that she just barfed in the dining room, or that Ashlee says she wants to sleep IN the bed with him!!:D We talk for them all the time, every day, really all the time. So much that it's hard for me to stop in front of other people.

If it were good for the girls I'd let them eat with me and my food at the table.

I have let Sadie sit at the dinner table (although not when we were eating), and fed all the dogs off silverware!

I share my pop (diet, caffeine free) and Gatorades with Cincy. She loves it!!!

My friends at work have found out about my "secret internet life" and give me some guff about it, but all love seeing the pictures of the dogs!

My dogs have too many toys to fit in their toy box.

I email or PM PT people more often then I do my best friend since the 4th grade (she now lives is St Louis).

I agree, I'd think most teens in our society get drunk by the time they are 17.

I agree. That is around the age that all my friends and I started experimenting. We all turned out ok.

Two things, Tikeya and whatever other younguns are listening...be aware. When I was 17, I got to drunk and wound up getting myself raped. Alot of things can happen if you drink to much. Also, please please please stay away from drugs at the very least.

I'll stay away from both drugs and alcohol, thanks -- I don't want to ruin myself.

Anyways ---
To stay on subject again,

I'll admit to being addicted to Carrots.

Oh yes, and to add about you people being afraid of telling people in *real life* about your online lives --

I am 21 years old. I have never drank any sort of alcohol (no I'm not a moral or anal person--I just can't stand the smell of it; and I am very picky about foods). I've never even considered smoking. (I can't stand second-hand smoke--among other things it gives me major asthma attacks. I wouldn't want to deny smoking to those who do enjoy it, as long as they have consideration for people around them.) I've never been to a "party" (outside a birthday party). I've never been on a date. I've not "kissed a boy" since I was in the fourth grade. Anything "beyond that," I've never done. Oh, and I don't have a driver's lisence... Sigh. I haven't had time to do the whole testing procedure.

Oooooo... Big confessions... Honestly, I can't tell anyone this stuff. It makes me feel like an incredible outcast. I have nothing in common with ANY of my peers, it seems. I guess it's a comment on our society that I feel this way--that these have to be "dirty secrets." But please don't assume everyone does those things as teenagers. It is hard enough to be "out of the crowd" without being stereotyped along with them.

Exactly. I'm asked *all* the time, whenever my family gets together; do you have a boyfriend?! Don't try to "fit in" by drinking/doing drugs...try hard in school, don't be a dropout!

Oh, another confession...

I have a phobia of strange dogs (you know, strays, and ones I don't know personally) of the following breeds: Rottweiler, German Shepherd, and Dalmatian. I have no idea why! I just feel so uneasy around them! (Incidently, I will walk up to a pit bull almost anywhere and give him a good pet. Same goes for all other breeds... Yeah, it's not logical. Guess that's why they call it a phobia.)

No other animal bothers me. Snakes, spiders, "rodents" (ah! so scary! LOL!), wolves (I've met a couple up close. They are awesome), bugs... you name it.

Agreed. It's wrong to say "not all kids do it because so-and-so doesn't do it, and this person doesn't do it." You have to think in facts, not personal; preference. Statistically speaking, most kids will experiment with alcohol.

More confessions...

*When I was little, both my parents smoked, so I thought smoking was cool. I remember when I was three, and my dad was smoking on the porch, and I asked him for a smoke. He warned me, and I said I wanted one. I love that he wanted me to learn from experience. So he lit one up and gave it to me and I put it in my mouth...and didn't do anything...I thought it was so pointless after that, and still do. :D Some people may say that it was cruel for him to do that, but I think that it was great for him to teach me that way.

*I've gone on dates, and have had (the 9th grade version of:rolleyes: ) boyfriends, but I've never been kissed.

*I HATE the light. I can't stand seeing light under my door at night, I hate having the lights on when I'm watching TV...I hate it lol.

I know there are kids who go around experimenting with everything. No its not *abnormal*, but does that make it right? The younger generation doesn't need encouragement from their elders to go out and try to be drunk, or to smoke, or to do other things that so many kids in our society do today, that its become a norm. You know what? Children who have proper guidance and proper parenting from the start *normally.......there are always exceptions* do not do these things. Really, I have seen this, and its truely a fact. When parents really devote their lives to their kids, it is very common that their kids won't mess around with alcohol, won't smoke, and won't get involved in other things that aren't good for them. Lack of parenting and then peer pressure makes youngsters want to try those things, and we don't need encouragement from people older than us to try those things on top of that. That's why our society isn't in the best shape right now. Parents aren't raising their kids as they should....there's way too much peer pressure, and then we have adults saying its normal and ok for teens to try these things. I don't think so. I think it needs to be discouraged.

Well, depends on what you define as right. Alcohol and getting drunk don't rate especially high on my immorality meter.

If you pick up any adolescent psychology book you'll notice that teens NEED to break away from their parents. They NEED to develop relationships outside of their home/family. Peer pressure is necessary to overcome. Some people fall for it more than other.

I'll be with everyone else and say I have a Pet Talk obsession. I'm not afraid of anyone knowing my post number, but it's not something I keep track of or tell people. I do, however, put the browser down when somebody comes in. I don't really know why....it's not just PT, it's chats, email, etc. I HATE people standing behind me reading what I'm typing.

My family knows of my PT obsession. They just think I'm weird. I have a problem with bringing up things to random people..."Oh my online friend has this dog..." or some crap like that. The people I work with really thought I was a nut job when I told them I was driving to Ohio to meet online friends.

And admittedly, I don't have many friends...Melissa is my best friend, and I see her and talk to her all the time. I have one other friend, but she has moved so I only see her every few months or so. Other than that, I don't talk to any of my friends from high school anymore. I very much consider several members of Pet Talk close friends. :)

Other things...hmm...well there's some things I haven't even told my best friend, so don't assume you're that priviledged. ;)

I'm 19 years old, and I have never kissed a guy, let alone been on a date. I've never tried smoking, drinking, drugs, etc. and I never plan to.

I'm completely obsessed with wolves and U2. My room would scare people.

My favorite shows are The Simpsons, CSI, and Survivor. I watch reality shows even though I usually think they are dumb.

I talk to Nebo like he is really a person. I have a photo album of him I carry in my backpack and 3 photos of him in my wallet. He's not allowed on the beds our couches so sometimes I sleep on the floor just so I can sleep next to him. I bet I spend 10 x more money on him then I do myself.

Normal people my age talk about going to the mall, boys, etc. but I bet 90% of conversations between Melissa and I consist of each of us wanting to adopt another dog.

My neighbors have a rottweiller "puppy mill." The poor things are in tiny (about 5' x 5') outdoor enclosures year round. Never walked or anything... When I see a rottie on the street I wonder if one of those dogs got out and is seeking revenge on the human race... (I saw one downtown once. He looked like the happiest dog on earth. Tried. Got basically ignored.

Animal people checked the place out and said it was fine.

No one seems to care, and none of the dogs are sick, and they have food and water.

I think I'm the only person that sees it as a puppy mill, but those dogs are just caged animals... And rottweillers really need even more training and human attention than some other breeds. People are stupid. It makes me mad...

Hmmmm okay confessions confessions. What can I think of to say.

Well I proudly talk about Pet Talk, usually only to the people I work with and they all think I'm a little on the nuts side anyways so they just smile and nod and listen as I talk about my dogs and other peoples dogs. I do however do the drop down thing when I'm online and someone walks in to my room, my thinking is I don't go looking at their stuff unless asked they shouldn't be doing that to me.

And to make Amy feel like less of a loser ;) :D I'm 23 and have never kissed a guy or had a date or done drugs...okay I've had like a few drinks but never in a row and you can count the amount of drinks that I've had on my hands.

Now on to some of my weirder quirks, and believe me people there are a few.

I do not swim in pools, oceans, lakes, seas, hot tubs, heck I don't even swim in bathtubs, all has to do with a childhood thing involving a rubber raft a wind a lake and a lake monster...you know that could so be taken the wrong way.

I'm a complete and total klutz, once ran in to a door at work so hard that I bounced off of it and left a nose imprint on it. Always trip and do the superman fall while running on agility courses.

Love Buffy and Angel. Felt great sadness when Buffy ended, it wasn't as bad as when Oz left but it was up there.

I've had a crush on the same singer since I was 8.

I willingly watch Anime over and over again and then quote them at random points during the day and even obsess about, there's just something fun about going up to people a screaming at them "LOVE AND PEACE!!!!"

Also willingly watch foreign films with subtitles just because well I can, and I've noticed that they seem to have better plots and stuff like that then some of the pieces of crap that are coming out now.

I'm one of those goofy little geeky people that write fanfiction. don't do it very often but there are times when I do.

Totally addicted to Build-a-bear, can't stop making them but must they cost to much to make but they're just sooooooooooooooooo cute.

Constantly talk to the dogs like they understand every single thing I'm saying and will quite often sacrifice a comfy chair or the good spot on the bed for them, have lost many nights of sleep because of that.

At times I have a speach impediment and certain words don't come out right, or I stutter it all depends on how tired I am and if I'm paying attention or not.

Love to sing along to the radio in my car but I prefer to sing along to broadway tunes and weird little stuff like that. Nothing like driving through downtown with One Day More or J-Pop blaring out the windows.

I used to have to ask people if I had just been insulted. What can I say I'm a little slow at times.

and at the moment that's all I can think of, besides I believe I've embarassed myself enough thank you.

I have a water phobia too! I will go in pools, but not past 5 feet ever. And public swimming pools generally gross me out. I swam once this year, and only because I was at a hotel and nobody else was there...before that, I bet it's been at least 6 years since I've ventured into a public pool.

I like wading in lakes and streams. Wading..I do NOT swim. Deep water totally freaks me out. You get me out on a boat and rock it, I WILL freak out, and I will NOT be kidding. :o

I never used to be afraid...but I've turned into a chicken over the last few years lol. I remember being young and scoffing at the other children when they'd scream at the seaweed. Now I'm terrified of seaweed. I was going down the Penticton Channel about a month ago, and there was sooo much seaweed and literally hundreds of huge fish. I was flipping out every time my float touched something lol. And I'm also terrified of there actually being an ogopogo... :o

Public pools disgust me, and I would never use one of them.............its not a confession though. I tell everyone. Just about anyone goes in those pools, kids, the elderly, clean people, dirty people....who knows. What if one of the 3 year old pees in there or something!?! Yuck! Never ever ever would I use a public pool, even if it was empty.

One day I'd love to have a pool of my own, in the backyard, where I can swim with modesty *no stranger can look at me in a home pool*, where I'd take care of the water and know that its clean, and where I wouldn't have to see women walking around pretty much naked in bikinis.

I have never swam at the beach either.....I just walk in, at the shore......get my feet all wet and feel the nice flowing water, but that's it. I've heard of horror stories of huge waves suddenly coming in and taking people into the ocean, so I'm quite scared of the big vast ocean.......I mean, to go too close.

The water that I LOVE to go in (walk in) is the water in shallow parts of rivers in beautiful forests and mountains. I can go there, deep in the shallow part of a river, and sit on a rock with my feet in the water..........just sit there and admire the beauty for hours. The water in rivers is flowing, so very clean, and its always the perfect spot to watch deer and other animals. :p

I figured if everyone was brave enough to confess, then I might as well.

Firstly I was amazed to see two people just like me, who cannot sleep without a fan going, I do not sleep well, most of the time, but having the fan on really does it for me too.

Secondly I admit to being a lover of Disco music, it was the thing in my young day, John Travolta and all, then it became so uncool to say you liked Disco, you almost got laughed at., I still love it, and would love to start a club.

My last one and the hardest one, is I have suffered from Social Phobia all my life, and at last I have a name for it, can accept it, and deal with it MY WAY, no more putting myself through hell.

I dream about winning Lotto, so I can own heaps of pussycats, and give them a total life of luxury and help others as well.:)

Okay folks. I didn't mean to cause such controversy by pointing out the fact that lots of teens experiment with alcohol. Nor did I mean anyone to think I disapproved those who don't. I think there are plenty of kids who do and don't- they're all doing what is right for them.

I don't think Cookiebaker meant to insult anyone that doesn't wait till they're married. I didn't. I personally regret it (and not for moral reasons, I was with who I thought was the right guy but wasn't), but I don't dwell on it.

I know many fine people that waited and others that didn't. It's up to that couple, IMO. :)

It reminds me of when Andy, my friend, and I saw a movie. That trailer for "40 Days & 40 Nights" came on and Josh Hartnett's character is all like, "Oh no! How am I going to keep from doing THAT for that long!?!?"

And my friend scoffs and mutters, "Try waiting 23 years." And then we all giggled. (Yes, Andy giggles... )( Yep.. he's gonna kill me.... :o ;) :D )

Hmm...ok, confession time.

1. Am an ABSOLUTE Charmed and Law & Order fan.

2. Am extremely overprotective of my dogs. There have been times that people have done stuff to Bailey that most others would let go, but my husband has had to stop me from beating the people up. This would be like a complete stranger grabbing her by her neck and holding her face in the dirt for trying to play with his 4 m.o. puppy (she didn't do anything to the puppy) and a dirty ******* hippie trying to slap her in the face for trying to play with his pit bull, he missed by 1 inch. Have been considering bringing mace to the dog park for those rare occasions where people mistreat Bailey.

3. Am completely addicted to McDonald's breakfast food, but only sausage and egg biscuits or sausage/egg/cheese McGriddles sandwiches. Any day is instantly better with McDonalds breakfast.

4. Hate bugs, spiders especially.

5. I've probably spent about $1000 on Bailey's vet bills and $500 for stuff for both her and Guinness to use...toys, beds, etc.

6. As far as guys are concerned, I only like big strong men. Not like those really muscle-y guys in muscle magazines who are all oiled up and you can see every vein in their arms. More like the ones in the U.S. Celtic Heavy Athletics Competitions. Here is an example:

http://www.nasgaweb.com/gallery/images/group_rich96.jpg

Which is funny, cause I guess some people would say, well, your husband's not big (tall), but he is very solid and very broad shouldered and strong. Plus, he is a wonderful considerate man. I love him so much!:D

LOL :D

Another one of my "confessions"...I always sleep with both my bed covers on. Even if it is boiling hot, if I don't have both covers on me I won't sleep. I don't know why but I just can't "be comfortable" without them.

I also love the ocean. I always get terrified about sharks or jellyfish stings or what not before we go on vacation but once we get to the beach, I spend the entire day in the ocean. I just love it. I have also found a really cool rock in there. It looks sort of like a fossil lol :p There are seashells stuck all over it and I think some fish bones too. :)

Also I am so afraid of going on a plane. Even way before 9/11....I am just so scared.

Geez primabella, we have a lot of the same fears!!
Scary,huh??

I too, am deathly afraid to fly. I hate hate hate it. I can't stand the feeling when the plain goes up and comes down, and the whole experience frightens me.

I need to have covers on as well, no matter what the temperature.

popcornbird

I'm not scared of flying in planes...........but.....I'm not very fond of it. Why? Because I get sick, air sickness, and feel *dead* the whole way. When I take motion sickness medicine before going though, I'm usually fine, but I still won't eat a bite of food in the plane or I'll get sick. He he he he. I'm ok with flying local flights in the US, because they are just 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. hours long, but it gets very exausting when flying to the other side of the world. :( Makes the travel 24 hours long with stops, and it makes me sick!

But as for fear....nope. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the feeling when the plane runs runs runs and then suddenly takes off, and you see the world below you, getting smaller and smaller every second. Its so neat, and something I miss when I don't travel for a few years. I also *love* landing....the view, especially when landing in a different country. SO neat! When you land in the night, the cities look SO lighted up and interesting from above.........the bridges look neat, the ocean looks.........um.............scary , the buildings look neat, and the cars especially. Take off and landing are the best, and if we go in an airline that has video games at every seat, I usually enjoy the flight too..........but I do get quite sore from sitting around for SO long. *sigh* I don't enjoy it as much as many, but I'm not afraid. Not at all. I just *hate* getting sick. Ugh. :(

Oh and I absolutely CANNOT fall asleep without my covers either. In the summer, I use a thinner blanket, but I *have to* be covered...............note, head too. My mom hates that I sleep with my head in the covers, because she said I won't get enough oxygen that way.......but what can I say. :o If I see shadows at night, in the dark, I get scared :o, so I'd rather keep my head in the covers and not see them at all. :p I don't use a night light anymore..........it gets annoying, but I keep my head under the covers and I don't sleep without a cover over me. I just can't. I feel so insecure that way. :p

I have a fear of birds, I'm still working on that but I get really scared if I get too close to them.

Sometimes if Tibby falls asleep in the living room and I'm ready to go to bed I carefully carry her to my bed because I can't sleep without her there.

Sometimes I set my alarm clock for 7 a.m. so I can watch reruns of Dawsons Creek then go back to sleep when it's over.

I once offered to cook a meal for a date and didn't know how to cook so I had a friend come to my house and make it for me.

I have no problems getting tattoos but I still cry everytime I have to get a shot.

Like Carole I also dream of winning the lotto, I daydream about it all the time and think about how many cats I would own.

When my ex and I broke up I didn't want to admit to my friends how upset I was by it so I lied and said I had to work because I didn't feel like going out or seeing any of my friends for a while.

That's all I can think of for now.

edit: I also forgot that I am obsessed with Pokemon and own 12 pokemon videos as well as lots of other pokemon toys. At one point my bedroom was decorated with pokemon (I was 19 at the time!)

I'm like most of you, no one knows about PT in my "real" life. I'd prefer that they don't know, and I would not tell them to join.

I let Bull eat off my fork!

Dustin will eat his cereal around Isis's head in his bowl

I have room darkening shades in my room so I can sleep at night. It has to be completely dark.

I sleep with a fan pointing at me all year long.

I nap on the couch sitting up so Bull can stretch out.

I have the vet's office on speed dail on my cell

I can't stand to leave Bull and Isis home alone for any length of time. Either my parents or Dustin's parents babysit.

I get up every morning at 8 to watch Charmed reruns and I have to be at home at 5 pm for the same reason (or I tape them)

I threatened to stop watching Survivor if they kicked Rupert off last Thurs. (10/23)

I have to sleep butt - to - butt with Bull

I confess to:

Driving with the AC blasting then opening up the windows for "fresh air!"

In the Winter, I crank up the heat in the house, but insist on having the windows open, especially when I sleep!

It's SO hard for me to fall asleep without the TV on or the radio playing quietly in the background. Laying there in total silence, all the saddness, worries, fears of the day play over and over in my head! (Beware, this is possible grounds for divorce, I hear!)

When I go out for the day, I always leave Animal Planet on for the girls...don't want them to be bored!

I confess to being a political/news junkie and a perpertual "student." I love going back to school to learn something new! Next possible career moves...biblical archaelogy, Egyptology or astronomy!:D

If the "kids" are left alone for more than 4-5 hrs., I start to get panicky. I've cancelled more than a few day trips with friends because I can't leave them alone that long!

I can polish off a pint of ice cream at one sitting...no problem!

I have an obsession with water...baths, showers, hot tubs, pools, the ocean, rivers, lakes, rain, the garden hose!!!:D If it's wet, I want to be in it! Something so comforting about a hot tub when I'm sick, tired, sad or cold, and there's nothing more refreshing than a cold shower in the heat of the summer or just floating aloing on a wave!

Oh, this reminds me of another one for me. I hate - absolutely HATE getting my hands wet! I carry that sanitizer stuff with me so I don't have to wash my hands in public bathrooms. I think it's much more sanitary anyway because most of the germs you get in the bathroom are either on the faucets or on the door handle that you usually need to pull to get out. So once I'm out I use the sanitzer and I feel much better.

And this also means that I absolutely hate doing the dishes by hand - which isn't a problem at home because of the dishwasher, but in the motorhome it's awful. Wearing rubber gloves helps, but I'd still rather not deal with it at all if possible.

I don't remember when or why this started, but I know it's been around for quite a few years now. Weird, I know. :o :)

I'm claustrophobic. I always have been, but certain situations made it worse.

~One time when everyone was at school/work, I went into my brother's room to watch a movie and the door jammed shut. I went nuts and nearly killed myself climbing on his desk trying to force a window open.

~A got stuck in a hotel bathroom on a trip to the beach. I was in there for two hours while my parents tried to contact someone to get me out. To make matters worse, I was in my bathing suit at the time (I'm pretty overweight and was planning to throw on shorts and a t-shirt before going out.)

~Several times I've managed to accidently lock myself into places.

~I was in a car accident, and the car was flipped over and crushed in. I was so panicked about being trapped, I didn't have the capacity to unlock a door for the rescuers. (They had to break open a window instead.)

So, my claustrophobia is surfaced in a few quirks. I always sit near a door. I hate booths in restaurants. If I'm in one, I need to be on the outside. Planes and boats make me uncomfortable, and it has nothing to do with heights or motion. Cars also raise my blood pressure, but not as bad. (Submarines are the scariest things on the planet, and I hope never to be in one!) I am afraid to lock doors. I usually don't even close them all the way for fear they will jam. I sit in the front row on the side closest to the door in every class. Not sure this is claustrophobia, but I also prefer to sit in a place and position where I can see a door and as few people as possible wherever I am...

Yeah, I'm a mental case I guess... But I'm terrified of being stuck somewhere.

I am a "ya know" and I don't think that commitment has anything to do with it, but Anna didn't mean to offend anyone or point fingers. I find it rather funny for someone who offends so easily also GETS offended at the drop of the hat.
Sorry Soledad, call it like I see, this is a confession thread!! ;) I thouroughly enjoy your kitty stories, and was fascinated by your moving such a long way back home. I truly hope that this doesn't banish me to your ignore list!!!
I am a bona fide dog lover, but the thought of sharing my fork with my dog, literally gives me chills. But she can lick my face, as long as I don't know where her mouth was!!
I also am a little freaky with birds and rodents. I love watching brids outside but wouldn't want or allow either of them as pets. I get freaked with the feeling of their little scratchy paws on me. Just the thought of it about sends me over the edge.

My sister read a *few* posts a while ago and went "Those people love animals TOO much huh?"

This is POSSIBLE????

OK - for my deepest, darkest secrets...or at least a few of them....

My biggest one concerning this group is that I'm just learning all the tricks one uses on a computer. Like I didn't know how to pull a quote off of a PTer's post until just now. We'll see if I did it OK when THIS post shows up. Anyway, that's why I haven't been able to share photos of my cat, Briggs and I'm dying to do so. Can't wait for you all to see her. SHe's such a doll!!!!

I talk to ALL animals the same as I talk to people.

If my hubby and I are away from the house on an outing that takes several hours, I can't wait to get home, especially to be with Briggs.

When our dog, Rat was alive, if we went out like that, Rat would stay with her grandparents rather than be left home alone

Like so many of the others, I simply cannot type an email or a post on PT or any other group when others are in the room. That's why you see me post mostly during the day, or in the evenings (like now) when no one is awake or my husband is out of town.

I almost think of Pet Talk as my own personal place........although nothing I would post would embarass me with my husband or my daughter, I feel better doing it when no one is looking! :o

Ok ok...........I'll confess. I'm like so many of you in this. I cannot post on PT, type emails, chat, etc. if there's someone behind me. Its not that I'm saying anything I can't say in front of them. That's not it at all. I just don't like other people *hearing* when I'm talking to someone and not them.....you know? Even when I chat with my cousin, my own cousin, if my brother comes in the room, I tell him to go away. The reason is.........because I just don't like talking to someone in front of someone else, who's not part of the conversation. And when I talk to my cousin, well its his cousin too, so he keeps quickly typing things on the keyboard to say things to her, and it ruins my conversation. :o LOL

As for PT, yes, I do close the screen when someone comes in as well. :o I was on PT the other day, but not on my computer........I was near the desk. Anyway, my brother comes in, so I go back to the computer and close the window. He asks me *what were you doing?* Me........*Oh........just reading some stuff about pets on a pet website.* Him........*You and your EXTREME love for animals!* and walks out. :p Hehehe. He has an EXTREME love for animals too........he just likes to tease me about it. He doesn't know about PT..........not that much. He knows I go to pet boards and read about pets, but that's about it. But he does the same thing (closing screens when he's chatting with friends/cousins etc). I don't think much of anyone feels comfortable when talking to someone and someone else comes. Even my dad tells me to go away when he's writing an email. :p Hehehe. But when my mom comes, if I'm looking at someone's pets' pics, I leave it open, and she always comments on how cute they are. Sometimes I close it, sometimes I leave it open..............but when my brother comes, I ALWAYS close it, because with him, I know I'll never hear the end of it. :p

I don't mind my family knowing though. My parents know and I took their permission before I joined. Outside my family.......my friends.......I don't want them to know about it *AT ALL*. When my friends come over, we often use my computer together.........so before them come, I delete PT off my history. :p Only because, I really really really don't want my friends to know. They don't need to. He he he he

My one really yucky behavior to confess (cause the fact that I love animals so much isn't all that weird, to you guys, anyway):

Teehee guess i will confess

*forgive me PT for i have sinned* (No offence anyone)

#1 i have had a crush on the same friend since high school that only one person knows about.

#2 i dont sleep well at all, and i have to know where Yumi cat is before going to bed (she is usualy on the end of my bed) but if she isnt i feel guilty and go and search the house for her and invite her to sleep on the end of my bed.

#3 uh on occasion i have let the dogs eat off my fork *crazy i know*

#4 i leave the radio on for the dogs if i go out , even if it is only for a short while.because i realy do think they would like to listen to the music and talk back radio.

#5 Ummm, i have not "come out" so to speak (only 1 friend knows) i just have not found the "right" moment

#6 i hate Sundays that are too wet for dog training of anysort and the dogs spend the morning in the dog trailers (whilst the hoomans sit in the club rooms and gossip and drink coffee)

i think that is all for now, but i am sure i will think of more later

I was really baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad....*cringe factor ahead*

In no particular order...

(On the subject of underage drinking, my parents let both my brother and I start drinking from age 15, three years before legal adulthood. As a result, we both learnt about responsibility with alcohol by the time we became legal. Which brings me to confession number one)

- A month before my 18th birthday, Mum took me to the races in the country. We both got stuck into the wine and orange, not to mention the riccadonna. A little bit worse for wear, we were stumbling about the place and giggling. It must have been Mum's idea to chat up the two cute policemen ... it certainly wasn't mine. Luckily, they were focussing on my cleavage and not the fact that I was underage!

- I was really naughty in highschool. One day, we wagged PE and stole all the goodies out of our classmates' lunchboxes. Immature, I know. I smoked the cigarettes I stole from my auntie in the toilets and blamed it on some ninth graders. Who then got suspended. I cheated on my French test, and encouraged the rest of the class to do the same. I snuck some alcohol to school in my drink bottle, but it was too disgusting to drink. I let off illegal firecrackers at the local shopping mall. I was really ashamed of myself when my geography teacher phoned my parents - to tell them what a smart pupil I was!

- I stole $15 from my stepdad's wallet.

- I told my brother, age six, that Santa wasn't real.

- I said a bad swear one day when I was ten. Blamed it on my brother who prompty got his mouth washed out with soap.

- I dared my brother to use the kitty litter. He did.

- I dared my brother to throw a firecracker off Dad's balcony. He did, it flew onto the balcony below. The firebrigade were called. Mum was never told.

- I threw a water bomb at a moving car and broke the dorky protector visor thingey.

- My friends and I used to play "Chicken."

- A guy at school was really, really, really scared of spiders. To the point of psychosis. I bought a MASSIVE fake spider. This thing was so comical, no one could really believe that it was real. I put it in his desk. He let out an almighty shriek in history class and earned himself detention. I then put real spiders into his glue stick and scored an even louder scream and more detention.

I am now TERRIFIED of spiders. I just killed a baby redback on my hand. That's the second baby redback I've found in the house. Those things have been known to kill young children and the elderly. Karma at work.

I am also a model citizen and, believe it or not, actually got a really good score at the end of highschool!

Confessions of a reformed degenerate adult:

1) I can't cook
2) I kiss my cats
3) I eat too many tortilla chips, lollies and icecream
4) I am addicated to Australian Idol
5) I think Orlando Bloom is really cute

Argh! The shame! Feel better now for confessing all.

I just thought up another one but I'm not ashamed of it at all. I love the show Whose Line is it Anyway. I know some people find it ridiculous but I piss in my pants (okay not really but you know what I mean) whenever I watch it.

Ok. Let’s see. Where to begin?

I was a wild child all through high school.

I kiss all my pups on the mouth and allow them to do the same to me.

Before I knew Chester had pancreatitis, I used to allow all the dogs to eat off my fork or spoon.

I nearly hit a car on my first attempt to pass my drivers test.

I cannot under any circumstances, sleep without Chester.

I am absolutely petrified of clowns, the Easter bunny at the mall and the Santa Claus at the mall.

I sleep with 2 fans, an empty humidifier and the tv on.

I’m sure I’ll be back with more!

I always have the TV on when sleeping, I use it as a night light for Kelcee:eek:
Last night we didn't turn on the fan. Tom said this morning he didn't sleep well. He woke up at every little sound. So guess we need a fan too;) I like having the dryer going when I go to sleep. It's a comfort sound to me. But more costly than a fan.

Lol.

In high school we had dress up day. I never wear dresses or skirts for this reason alone. I decided to take the long way home from school. (I had to walk.) I was walking on the side walk on the busiest part of the city. I got home yelling about how bad the back of my feet hurt from my shoes I turned around to show my mom and the back of my skirt was tucked into my panty hose  I was sooo embarrassed.

I to stay in my PJ's all day.

I just got my drviers license. I skipped over reverse and almost ran over the instructer  I was very nervious.

I have been in over 15 car accidents. (None of which I was driving in)

I was with my father in law when he hit a deer and I still get flash backs from it.

I love to cook but I'm not a good cook.

I take a nap every day. If I don't I get grumpy.

I think that's about all that I want to share at this point.

BAD Confession - I called in sick to work today so I could finish stencilling some flowers on my porch!:o [/B]

I wrote my confessions that I go to work sick and call in sick when I'm well.
Today I am so sick, I have a Dr. appt. at 1:45 and have to work at 3pm. I just want to save the days of sick pay for more fun things than work:eek:

Ally Cat's Mommy
10-27-2003, 12:22 PM
I'll post a pic of the porch once my husband gets back from overseas and BRINGS MY CAMERA BACK! (I am doing through digicam withdrawal right now)

One more thing - I have never been able to tell my Mum that I don't wear PJ's to bed. Everytime we go visit I take an old T-Shirt to wear to bed, and as soon as she sees it she says "Oh Julie:rolleyes: " and rushes out and buys me a pair of pajamas! (The ones she bought me last year were pretty cool - they are capri pants in a black and white gingham check, with a little tank-top full of black kittens! - I change into them when I get home from work, but I take them OFF before I get into bed)....

OK this is getting embarassing......anyone else do the same????

2 years ago, Popcorn found my brother's cell phone charger lying around (it WASN'T plugged in thank God!). He decided he would take the liberty to chew on it. Anyway, by the time I found out, it was split into two, with one very proud, yet guilty looking birdie sitting in front of it!

Swiss Panorama (http://www.swisspanorama.com/)

Click on the "live cams" for some great views - if it's not snowing, rainy or foggy that is. Oh, and if it's daytime. ;) :D

This is the Berner Oberland part of Switzerland and it is absolutely beautiful. Been there twice now and would go again in a heartbeat! Right where the little film icon thing is near the word Brienzersee is where we stayed, right on the lake - absolutely stunning view out the window of our chalet. Brienzesee and Thunersee (Lake Brienz and Lake Thun) are glacial lakes meaning the water comes from the melting glaciers. The swans in this lake are humungous!!! I swear they stood almost 5' tall (ok, at least 4') and their webbed feet were bigger than Terry's hands! The first day we were there we saw something across the lake, thought it was a boat or something, turned out to be a swan! It was that big that it looked like a boat from across the lake!

Ok, enough of that. I absolutely love this area and could go on and on about it, but check out the live cams when it's daylight. Once when Terry was at Schilthorn with his boss and a group of customers, and I was home :( I saw his boss through the live cam. It was so cool to be home here, watching him walk around the deck there. Unfortunately Terry didn't come out before the camera changed it's focus and I never got to see him.

Ok, that's enough, I gotta go back to my homework. Anybody know VB.Net? Ugh! ;) :D

It's a great place to visit! :D

Looks wonderful and close to home. I'll think about....but.....

I want to save up money for the CA PT BBQ next July. Hmmmm...better run out and buy a lottery ticket.

Debbie: thanks for the link for Switzerland. Looks absolutely wonderful but I'm afraid a bit out of my financial league.

Decisions, decisions. A dream vacation by myself to Switzerland, or whisk off to a PT party????? Hmmmmm.....

If I had the money, I would have bought it! That's why I go looking (not shopping) without money, otherwise it turns into spending all the money at once :) I LOVE blue in the kitchen - I even have blue wallpaper, blue glasses, white-and-blue plates, blue candle holders and even a blue painting :)

*When I was like sixteen I worked at a florist in the mall. I hated the other girl that worked there. So when I'd close and I knew she was opening the next morning I'd open up all the rolled coins so that she'd have to count them all the next morning. :p

I only got detention once. And that one wasn't even my fault. Honest!

I to only got one detention. Mine was actually kinda funny but not really. A friend of mine and I decided that we wanted to skip school. So we went to the office and said we didn't feel good. We went to my friends house. Around 3 pm or so I went home. As soon as my mom got home I was being yelled at for no apparent reason. After she fianlly told me what I had done wrong I laughed. I guess when I left school that day 2 hours later we were in a tornado watch or warning. I don't remember which it was. They had everyone out in the halls and doing a head count. I was missing so they called my mom to find out where I was. My mom was very mad. She knew I had a habbit of skipping school when ever I got bored. I just never did it during bad weather. So I got my first detention. I think I was the only kid who liked detention. It got me away from the other kids, I had time to do what every I wanted with my time. I was all caught up on my work so I had nothing to do almost all day. They gave me 3 days of detention. I still laugh about it. I don't think it is funny what I did just when my mom was yelling at me as much as she was and the look on her face when I started laughing. PRICELESS. I know she only wanted to make sure I was safe but I didn't care.

Katie

P.S. maybe that isn't a good thing for kids to read. We all make mistakes in life. I'm no differant.

Oh, my son LOVES detention, or rather in-school suspension. They give them the day's work to do, but he gets it all done in about an hour or two. Then they can either read or draw ... his two favorite things to do. I finally had to tell them to stop giving him suspension, as it was a reward, not a punishment.

I got ISS in 8th grade because I pulled a boy's pants down in the hallway of the school during class change. It was in revenge because he pulled mine down in gym class (that was the popular joke at the time, for the boys to pull down the girls sweats.) Well, most of the girls just cried about it or got embarrassed. Not me, I turned around and got the little jerk back.
Only problem was I got everything down, undies and all! Poor kid, there he was buck naked in the hall during class change. I got 3 days but it was WORTH IT! That a**hole kid never pulled another girl's pants down again. In fact, I may have put a stop to all that nonesense!

When I worked in a records room we had to box records to be sent to storage... you would stack the boxes about six high.....the 'fun' thing to do would be to kick the corner of the bottom box so the person in charge of that set of boxes would have to pull the top boxes in order to re-box the bottom one....

One day I went to kick some boxes that hadn't been
assembled yet.....

I heard a crunch and thought I broke my toe...

I broke the nail on my big toe......I went for two days before the pain was SOOOO bad I had to go see the doctor.......I did lie about it to my boss and told her that I ran it over with a cart...which led to the safety and security department investigation......I had to fill out forms and submit a paper on ways to 'work' safely....I don't know what was more painful.....the toe, lying about the incident or
having to fill out all those papers....

I started working the midnight shift about a month ago and always about 5 in the morning I run over my feet with a 50 lb. pallet jack. Don't know how this happens because I always pull the thing behind me but every morning: BAM! Right over the top of both my feet. Thankfully there is hadly anything on them most of the time. I don't think my poor feet could handle the 50 lb jack plus about 100 lbs of frieght on the pallet. I don't think my managers really care they just laugh and tell me to stop dancing and get back to work.
