Our cats found this "spooky" spider today in our apartment. Seems a bit too big for being a Swedish spider and perhaps my fiancé brought it home from Greece two days ago. Anyway, the cats enjoyed it!

I asked Alice to repost this on Cat General so more people will see her gorgeous kitties (okay....for you arachnaphobes (sp?) you'll have to look at spiders too, but it is worth it!!!)

Alice,

Oh, my!!! That's a spider and a half! I loved Tess's two paw approach to the beast. Costello looks extremely curious about the whole thing. So CUTE:D

Your website was lovely. You certainly are a good photgrapher and of course, you have two very beautiful subjects in Tess and Costello. :) I really enjoyed seeing all of their pictures and reading their bios. Thanks for making your work available.

Take care - Bobbi

It's easy to tell that Tess and Costello are well loved cats.

That spider reminds me of the movie titled "Arachnophobia" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099052/) with an imported spider causing all kinds of trouble. Maybe from Greece, huh?

I'm guessing the orange one is an Aby! And the tuxy is cute too.

Meanwhile, what are you all talking about? That's not a big spider!!!!!! We get heaps that size and often much bigger here in Aus. Especially in Queensland where it is hot and humid. I had a spider in my bathroom that was three times the size of that, black and hairy. Yerrrrrk. And there are some breeds in the tropical areas that are the size of dinnerplates!!

Fortunately, we haven't seen too many in the new house as it is fairly modern and well sealed.

With that said, I am terrified of spiders and would freak out none the less...

The orange one is Costello and his variety of Abyssinian is called a Red or Sorrel. He's quite beautiful. Tess is the lovely black and white Tabby. There's lots of pictures at their website Tess and Costello (http://www.abycat.com/)

I think I've seen that kind of spider around here. He's a biggun! I love the pic where the spider is up against the glass looking like he's trying to pounce on the kitty.

They are beautiful, by the way! (The kitties ;) ) :D

A cute Aby is the only thing that gets me to open a thread with SUCH A BIIIIGGGGG spider.

We have much less spiders at home since Tigris eats them but sometimes you see the legs still in his face:eek:

We also collect them in glasses and expatriate them because rationally I know they are ok:rolleyes:

Yes, I guess this spider is nothing compared to the ones you have in Australia. "My" spider lives right now in a cocacola bottle at my office. Keep it as some kind of therapy, when I’m pretty scared of them and I don’t wanna be that! Well, it’s getting a bit better every day. Guess that’s because it’s still IN the bottle……
