Guard Cat Credited With Saving Family From Robber

SUTTONS BAY, Mich. -- Move over, Rover. There's a new guard dog in town -- or make that a guard cat.
Socks the barn cat is getting the credit for foiling an attempted burglary in Suttons Bay.
Deputies say Socks was meowing so loudly that the cat's owners were awakened to find someone trying to rip them off.
The family discovered the doors to its house and its car were open. Deputies said the family chased away the would-be teenage burglar, who was busted a short while later.
The whole time, the family dog never made a sound.
