Hello All

Yesterday was a beautiful day, so we decided to take a hike. It was Katie's first big walk out in nature. She loved it! There were lots of water spots and she loved to walk through the streams. She was a little bit timid about climbing on and over the rocks, but she was starting to get the hang of it. She loved all of the people and the other dogs that we came across. She gets so excited when we see new people and she just wants to jump right up on them. We definitely need to work on this. The only thing that seemed to threaten Katie was a sign. Yep, thats right a SIGN. Silly Pup!! We were coming up out of a wooded area and there was a somewhat large landmark sign telling us where we were and the history. Katie did not know what it was and started barking very loudly and the fur stood straight up on her back. We have not seen her like this before. Katie rarely barks and definitely not like this. She did not budge, just stood right beside us giving that sign plenty of warning barks to back away....of course the sign did not budge...lol. I finally had to walk over and pat the sign and show her it was safe. It was hilarious!! Like I said....silly pup! We had a great day and here are some of the pics that I took. The pics do not do the place justice. It was beautiful there.

She is really growing up and looking beautiful! Sounds like you had a great time. I'll bet it was wonderful. As I said in your other post, made me homesick for Tennessee and the springs there.

LOL! Sheba use to bark at the big rocks
in the ocean or lakes. I wonder what our dogs are thinking
when they see live large rocks and signs that do not move. hehehe

The photo's came out fantastic.
The second photo is so gorgeous. (I would frame that one)
Your a very good picture taker.

I'm going to try to find the dog park pics now.

Glad you all, and especially Katie had
a wonderful time.

It is in Hocking Hills, Ohio. Near Logan, Ohio. I looked on Yahoo maps real quick and it came up about 2 1/2 hours from where you are. I think! It is a very beautiful place and you can even rent cottages, cabins or a room at an inn. We've never done that, but I would like to some day. One year my parents and I went there for a winter hike. It was fabulous!! Completely snow and ice covered. The falls were frozen and it was just gorgeous. Definitely have to wear good winter hiking boots. I found that out real quick. I was slipping and sliding everywhere. I could barely make it through. We laughed the whole way though. Anyway..here are a couple of websites for it.

What beautiful pictures!!! As soon as I saw them I knew they were of Hocking Hills. We have taken a few family vacations there and each year our Church Youth Group go there for a weekend. For 5 or 6 years, Carl and I chaperoned that group first with Amy's age group, then Rob's and then Christy's. We have never taken any of the dogs there though. I don't think I would want to attempt all five but it might be fun to take a couple of them. Hocking Hills has a place in my heart - it is so beautiful!!!

Katie looked like she had a good time. Too bad that big old mean sign scared her. I am sure Snoopy would find even more things to scare him. He is such a scaredy cat.!!!

Wonderful photos!! Katie is such a gorgeous dog, and what a gorgeous background!! :D

Nebo just loves to go hiking too! Signs haven't bothered him, but a while ago we went for a walk around my house and he was terrified of a fake scarecrow. I coaxed him up to it with treats, now every time we pass the scarecrow he rushes over looking for his goodies!
