I decided to start this thread, as that was what the poll was about, when I voted over 55 per cent of you said you sang silly songs to your pets, so now my curiosity has got the better of me.

I confess to singing Rockabye baby to lexie, she just looks at me as if to say silly old woman.

So come on tell all.......:) :D

When feeding the girls (cats) in the morning, I sing the following, to the tune of "Feed the Birds" from the Mary Poppins movie.

Feed the girls
Cat food each day
Cat food
Cat food
They like their cat food....

Dusty for some off reason never ever gives kisses. But his way of loving is rubbing his face all over you while groaning. So we do that together in a song. lol. We growl and rub our faces all over eachother.

ok - I'm busted.

to the tune of "shake your booty" I've sung
"shake, shake, shake.
Shake, shake, shake,
shake your food dish,
shake your food dish yea."

I do this when I'm shaking the food dish to make Sid think that he's getting fresh food.;)

I've also sung "You are my sunshine" to Joxer because he is.:D

Haha, When I give Simba a bath I sing "Shake your booty" so he'll shake dry.

"Shake", for drying, is one of his commands.

If I ever sang to my pets they all run away in fear.

But I have caught my husband singing to them. He makes up songs all the time when ever they do something silly or dumb, he lets them know in song.

Oh, and how could I forget - for any of you familiar with the TV show Xena...

to the tune of "Joxer the mighty"

"You're Joxer the kitty,
you're such a silly kitty-cat.
you never know quite where it's at.
You're Joxer, Joxer the kitty:D :D "

the neat thing is, I can change words around - I can call him a goofy kitty cat, a pretty kitty cat, what ever works that day.:)

I don't really sing to my pets, but sometimes I will be humming a song that I just heard, but I do sing a song to Otis sometimes:

'Daisy, Daisy, I can't believe its true'
Except I put Otis in there, and I sing it high, and he will be sitting there tilting his head from side to side.:p

We sing the blues together when she has to go to the vet - she starts a meeeorrrowow and I just kinda pick it up - "mee-e-e-e-OW-oh-wow-oh-wow" and before long we're singing (or mrowling) the Grasshopper Blues together!

I've been know to sing "Cat food is coming, it's coming to plate, OH! Cat food is coming, it's coming to bowl. So won't you furry, hurry, furry feet? Now won't you furry, purry, furry feet? " to the tune of "Shrimp Boats are Coming" - If you're old enough to remember that little ditty.

I've been trying to get some sleep by reading a Stephen King novel I just found (I know - sleep?!?), which she keeps trying to interupt (lie on a page, etc.) so I started a new version of "Me and Mrs. Jones" for her: "Me and Stephen King, we've got t thi-i-i-ing going on. . ."
