My son posed in the back but don't worry - he didn't ride in the back!

Jake gets to ride up front.

Then we went for a W-A-L-K off leash. Jake was forced at gunpoint. Max ran around so fast that I couldn't get a picture.

Then when we were all tuckered out, I put the leashes back on and we went home.

Now Jake and Max will sleep the whole rest of the day.

I really hope that's not a real gun.

Lol, I'd rather your brother ride in the back than Max. Your brother knows now to jump out, but Max may not.

I like the one of Jake in the front seat.

Primabella, he does that without a running start! He'll do it directly from a sit. So as you can imagine, there's not a fence which will hold him. hehe. We have to keep him tethered when he's in the dog run. He's some dog.

hehehe - not a real gun. It's a pellet gun, and my son doesn't shoot any animals with it. He just enjoys shooting at targets out in the woods.

Max can't jump out of the truck because of the way we hook up his leash, and believe me we drive VERRRRY carefully down those country roads. He just loves riding in the back!

That's your son? I thought you said it was your brother?

Or are you speaking from one of the dog's point of view?

Well I was trying to but I guess it didn't really come out that way, did it? Maybe I should go edit my message to clarify it.

Great pictures!!
I am really relieved to hear that your brother does not shoot
any animals with the pelet gun.

OK - I edited my post so it's not confusing. I was trying to do it from the dogs' point of view, but I confused everybody. That's not my brother, it's my son. :D :D :D It would be nice to be that young again but, no. I'm getting to be an old fart.

My son is quite a gentle boy, though. Once he did shoot a squirrel with his pellet gun, and he felt so badly about it that I don't think he'll ever hunt. We do live in an area where people do a lot of hunting, and I'm afraid somebody will talk him into deer hunting some day. I hope not.

Looks like everyone had a great time!

BTW - you would have had to force me across that "bridge" at gunpoint! YIKES! I hate things like that!

Nah - the bridge wasn't scary. Even if you fell off of it you wouldn't get hurt very badly, because it wasn't very high.

By the way - does everybody like my big dumb truck??!!??

When I got my big dumb dog, my son-in-law had his truck sitting outside our house with a "For Sale" sign on it. He left the spare keys at our house so one day I decided to take the dogs in it so I wouldn't have to get my car dirty. Max and the truck were a perfect match, so I bought it. Now my car stays clean, but I have to fight with my husband for the truck. He suddenly decided it would be cool to drive a rusty old truck to work every day and my daughter has adopted my car as her own, so they expect me to drive his MINIVAN! No can do, GI. I never wanted to buy the geekmobile to begin with. He wanted it, so he can drive it!

Just be careful...I don't know if you read my story about Raider, but when he jumped out of a truck, he was tethered in there with a CHAIN and he still broke it...

Great pics! Your dogs are adorable! :)

He could also chew through the leash, eh. I guess i'd just be too paranoid to let my dog in the back of the truck, without me holding him back there.

The UP is such a beautiful area! As you already know, I would love to get off campus and into some real woods. Looks like a fun time was had by all! I'm glad there were no porcupines lurking about!

Cooool truck! I like how it was supposed to be the dog's truck but now everyone is fighting over it! LOL!

Max you are so handsome and STRONG! Woooo! :)
Jakie - you are such a sweetie! I would love to give you a big hug around your soft, fluffy neck! ;)

Raider is a 2 year old lab...riding in the back of a truck, jumped out at some point and my friend driving did not see him jump out...she noticed he was gone later. They searched all night for him, then put up signs, called vets, shelters, etc. Some nice guy found him about 2 days later and called them. The road he jumped out on was at least 45 mph, and he only obtained a few cuts and scrapes. He was LUCKY, I really didn't think he made it past the jump. But he honestly was tied in there with a chain, and he managed to break it. It was in a mountain type area, so he probably saw some sort of animal to chase.

That's really scary. He's so lucky that he was found in good shape.
