worms

Several weeks ago we purchased an 1/2dobie 1/2 rott from a rescue league who said she had been wormed. We are still find white flat worms in her stool both alive and dead. Can anyone tell me how long worm medicine takes to work and also what type of worms these are. Thanking you in advance.

Hi Jan,
Do these worms look like flat little chiclets? If so, they could be pieces of a tapeworm. Tell the vet, and ask to have your dog dewormed again, bearing in mind that it could be a tapeworm.
Does your dog have a large appetite, but is very slim/skinny? These could also be symptoms of a tapeworm. Good luck!

Thank you so much that is exactly what they look like. It's hard to tell if she's skinny because of the worms or just that she's growing soo fast and runs and plays constantly. I will definately take her long skinny legs to the vets asap. Thanks again.
