We are finally looking into buying a digital camera since our scanner is a piece of crap and doesn't work anymore.........What kind of digital cameras do all of you guys have? How much did you pay for them? There's so many to choose from and we have no idea which one to get. Any suggestions???

I've used a few digicams. I've used the Jamcam 3.0, sony dsc-p31 and the canon powershot a60. Without a doubt, I prefer the canon over the others. The price isn't too bad. I got it for $430 canadian after tax but I kicked myself for not waiting a month for that sale lol. For that price, you get loads of features in the cam. It's 2.0 megapixels which is sufficiant for printing out regular sized pictures at the lab. The macro pics are very clear as are the more distant pictures. It's capable of taking pictures while Kai is running without totally blurring him out so I'm quite happy with it. If you'd like, I could post some pics for you to see.

Most def. the Canon that Ash suggested. I have one as well, it is my second camera.

My older one was a FujiFilm finepix 1300 which is also goo, and probably at around $100 now. It took excellent pictures, but, I wanted a camera with the recording feature.

I've used all sort of camera -- Kodak, Sony, Fuji, Canon and tohers I forget the names.

Def. pick the Canon or Fuji over them all.

I have a Canon Powershot A70. I *love* it, and totally recommend it. :) It's the "upgraded" version of KayAnn's and Ash's, but either work just as good. :D I payed around $300 for it. Not a bad price at all.

I have an Olympus D-510. It takes great pictures & has quite a few options, but it does not have sound in the recording feature.

Here's another vote for the Canon Powershot A60--I love it. And Consumer Reports magazine recommended it, too.

That's why we got ours. :) My mom's friend printed out a list of good digital cameras with the recording and sound feature, and we chose the Canon from the list.

I'm sorry but I don't know how much mine cost. It was a birthday present from my fiance... but it is an Olympus D-520 ZOOM and it's great!! Very easy to use and make your way around... I would definitely suggest it!!

Here (http://www.store.yahoo.com/royalcamera/powershota60.html) they have the Canon for $179.99. It was more expensive when I bought it.
Here's a Review on the Canon PowerShot A60. (http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_reviews/a60.html)

I have a 3.2 megapixel Fuji Finepix. It's great for outdoor pictures, but the flash really stinks and you can't take pictures with it in low light - the autofocus doesn't work in low light, and you get a lot of shake. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're doing all your pictures in bright light. These photos were taken with it in good light.

Thanks for your input guys. We were looking at the Canon A70 (I think) the other day and one of my mom's friends has a Kodak one that is pretty good. The Kodak has tons of different options (action, outdoor, night, auto, etc) and the pictures are pretty good quality but we wanted to check out some other ones before really making a decision. I'll let you guys know when we finally make up our minds. ;) :D
