There is an thread in Cat General "What is the age of your oldest cat?" I was wondering who might be the oldest PT dog. Did we already do this? If so, I can't remember. Anyway, I am thinking it might be Amy's (WolfQ) Smokey. I believe he is 17. Anyone else got a *senior citizen* pupster?

Yeah, I believe it is Amy's Smokey.
Mine aren't seniors *yet*, but my oldest, Molly is almost 3 years old. :)

Amy, I had a toy poodle who lived to 17. He may have made it to 18 but I assisted him to the Rainbow Bridge. :( He had so many ailments that old dogs develop (dense cataracts, had gone deaf, lost most of his teeth and lost bladder control). I often wonder if he would have made it to 18. Here's hoping Smokey will. :)

Murph is 13, but still acts like a kid. Maddie is 12 and a half
and was born a cranky old lady.:)

Edited to Add: Maddie had me edit this. Says she prefers to
be referred to as curmudgeonly.

Sadie is 11 but still is very energetic. I hate the thought that she is getting old so I make sure to cherish every day.

Wow!!!!! That must be a record for a GSD!!!

Killian is 9 1/2. He is a senior for a large-boned GSD. I will be happy if he makes it to 10 (my first GSD died at 10). I will be very happy if he lives to 12 1/2 like my Great Pyr.

I'm not sure of Disney's exact age but based on what the shelter and the vets guessed she is almost 12 years old now. They think she was a little over a year old when I got her, give or take a few months.

Our Yellow Lab, Murphy, is 13 1/2, and going strong. :) She is deaf and has chronic ear problems, but other than that, she has no health issues, other than some stiffness caused by arthritis.

Sue we wish the same for Killian! I do hope he has more years with you and Shiloh. In fact I wish all of you senior doggies lots more time here on earth with the humans who love you so!

Mine are all youngsters--Jada is 2, Abbey and Kito will be 2 next month, and Riley will be 1 in January!!!

My parents dog, Max (MaxandSpike's mom) is 15, and keeps going strong--he's a mixed breed, and an absolutely wonderful dog!!

I don't know Samantha's actual birthdate (I assigned her June 25th, the same as my grandmother's...), so next month she'll be a year and half. The last year has gone SO fast. I hope time slows down some and if it doesnt, then Samantha needs to live forever.

Hi,
I had to put my lab mix (Benji) to sleep in March. He would have been 16 on Monday. I still think about him daily. I miss him more than I thought I would. I have another lab mix that is 10 and a shihtzu mix that is 11 months, but Benji was special, he followed me wherever I went and laid down next to me when I stopped.
He was my best friend.:(
