Lucee has been here for a few weeks now. So long that we had to name her, we couldn't have her coming to us when we called her "The New Girl". We love her. How can we give her up? We must, but no one seems good enough to be her parents.

I just wish we could win the lotto and we could move and keep her and many more like her.

I understand how hard it is. Odie was a foster. Ginger was a foster, Cannilla was a foster and Brandy was a foster. Was is the key word.....their here to stay. I couldn't give them up, they became my family. I never planed on having 8 dogs, but once they get here it just to hard to let them go. So I know what you are going through and it is tough.

Someone will come along, lets hope, that you will feel safe giving her to and hopfull that will make it a little easier on you. Ask if you can come check up on her ever once in awhile, when that time come. Some times just seeing her happy in her new home will help you. I know when I got Mooch, the people that resuced her from the fire came and checked up on her and I didn't mind at all...I understood and they only had her 2 days till I was called. I also got some new friends out of the deal. Sometime it can be a win, win for all.

Good luck

AWWW!! Lucee and Ashley have the same ears!

They are so adorable. I've never fostered, but that's because I know I'd never be able to give them up.

She is so beautiful!!

I certainly hope someone who meets your standards comes along, those are going to be tough shoes to fill!!
She is so lucky to have found you--even if it's only for a short while--she certainly looks like she is having the time of her life!!!!

Oh how hard it must be, she is such a cutie pie:D
But I do hope a good enough family comes along for her, then I think it would be a little easier to give her up.

Oh you guys have quite the beauty on your hands! What a precious face, Lucee has. Best of luck to you & the adventures that occur in finding her a new home. (Have you bought your lotto tickets yet?)

PS. Absolutely LOVE the cocker statue in your bkyard.

I don't know if I could do it.... I'd want to help pups by fostering, but I'd had the same problem you are. Finding the perfect person/people/family to take them! Who else could be more perfect then yourself for this wonderful life you've helped save?!
That's how I'd feel, and I'm sure I'd keep everyone I foster!

Even when I got Buddy, (off of death row) he was so afraid of my Husband, he went after him once, lunged and snapped at him, and my husband told me I had to get rid of him, so I thought, hey... I could just foster him, and find him a home.... well, that didn't happen! It's now 9 months later, Buddy's still here, (and so is my hubby) and Buddy's still afraid of him, but not as much, and a week doens't go by that we don't fight about him. But I don't care!!
I saved his life, and I want him to be by myside forever!
Who knows.... maybe one day he'll save mine!

I know exactly how you feel. I've gone through it too...
She's a lovley girl, and I'm praying that things really do work out for you. :)
You have to promise me one thing though: You'll tell her new family about Pet Talk, so they can join! :D

Thats one of the dangers in fostering, getting too attached to let them go. We got very attached to our last foster, DJ. (see my webshot albums)

After seeing him survive parvo and his broken leg healed, we got emotionally attached. We try to spend our energy on our pets. A few are getting up in years, and we want the remaining years to be great.

Keeping one foster may mean there is less space to save another.

I know what you mean. I would have loved to keep this dog I transported to a foster home but it just wasn't possible. I fell in love with him the minute I saw him. And, I would also like to be able to keep Chance. I, too, wish I could win the lotto.

Lucee is adorable and if I were anywhere near you, I'd take her in. Samantha would love having a canine-partner-in-crime. (Speaking of which, I talked to my fiance last night about getting another - nonpuppy - dog after we get married next June and he didn't have a problem with it! I want to save a dog that usually just gets walked past when people go straight to the puppies...)

Anyway! Lucee does look very happy with you and your other dogs look like they love her too. There is absolutely no way you can keep her? It looks like the arrangements have worked out thus far... :(

I wish we could keep her. For now we just sneak her. And we will keep doing it till we find her the 'perfect forever home'. We live in a mobile home park, right across the street from the manager. You can only have 2 pets under 25 pounds. We already sneak in our Kelcee, she is indoor only, but does get in the living room window for sun. And right next to the manager is 'busy body'. She saw Lucee on day and comes running out to see why we have her. Tom just told her briefly that we found her and are looking for her parents. Then he left her standing there. She tried to talk to me the other day too. I pretended I didn't hear her call my name, and just went inside. Hopefully she won't tell on us. We try to hide Lucee, by taking the girls through the back gate to load and unload them in the truck for their daily walks. This 'busy body' never gets involved if she sees anything really bad, like theft, or people leering around houses. She has even taken pic's of us washing our car on the street, against the rules, riding our bikes in the park, against the rules, cars parked in front of our house on the street against the rules. You can see the flash as she is holding the camera up through the blinds. Some people.

I wish so much I could take Lucee!! Stupid country, why does it have to be so damn big?? :( Good luck finding her a place and God bless you for taking her in and being so picky. :) I'm sure you'll find her a terrific forever home.

:( I'm so sorry for you both. Lucee is adorable, and such a sweet girl. It's no suprise that you've become attached to her! Bless you for taking her in like you have! I hope she finds her forever home soon!

I originally was just going to foster my puppy when I picked her up. I was just going to clean her up...I even had 3 people that wanted to adopt her...then she gave me a kiss and fell asleep on my lap...I've had her for 3 months. Layla is my spoiled baby and my whole life. I couldn't live without her...I now believe in fate.
I wish I could help...Layla would love a play mate, but like you I am sneaking her because we can have 2 cats or a cat and a dog and the dog has to be under 35lbs...and I already have two cats.

I hear you, Tomkatz...I could never foster animals. I would wind up keeping them all. I'd had that lost dog (Clara) for just 4 days, and I still miss her like crazy.

Lucee is beautiful!
