I was thinking that we should start a list of all the little fur babies on this board that needs special prayer for whatever reasons and we can just pull it up and pray for them. If you can think of any, please include them. So far I have the following:

Killian
Bourbon
Buddy
Bailey
Charlie

What a great idea!

I'd like to add our oldest kitty Clarice. She is approx. 10yrs and has arthritis (sp?).

I'm afraid she is slowing going downhill. :(

That is a very nice idea, all the pets on this board are loved by all and we need to let the families know that we care and pray for them.

Molly and deli-dog,
Here is Killian's health problem log.
http://petoftheday.com/cgibin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=6&t=000116 http://petoftheday.com/cgibin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=6&t=000140

He is acting like his old self except for the fact that he does not eat very much and his weight is a problem. The disease will eventually kill him but we're hoping that it will be in the far future. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

I know this is the dog board but I find this is such a lovely idea that I was wondering if you don't mind sparing a little prayer for my oldest cat Gigio. He is 18 and I have the feeling that he will not be with me much longer. He is like the end of a candle slowly wasting away. The vet has told me that he is not in any pain so I have just to wait and see.

True, this is a dog board, but we can't be biased when someone needs our prayers. I added my 10yr old kitty, Clarice, on here too.

And I agree, it is a very very sweet idea! Pettalkers have become one great big fur-family and we should be able to rely upon other members when we need help. I feel confident that this is the best board around and also, that these are the best people around! Everyone is so caring and sincere! What can I say? Pettalk members are very special people!

I thought this was a wonderful prayer for all the animals.

A PRAYER FOR ANIMALS

Hear our humble prayer, O God,
for our friends the animals,
especially for animals who are suffering;
for any that are hunted or lost
or deserted or frightened or hungry;
for all that must be put to sleep.
We entreat for them all
Thy mercy and pity,
and for those who deal with them
we ask a heart of compassion
and gentle hands and kindly words.
Make us be true friends to animals
and so to share
the blessings of the merciful

I'm so glad you all started this. I had gotten to the point where I keep a handwritten list by my computer....just so I don't leave anyone out.

I think of you all often and the needy ones are definitely in my prayers. In fact, the ones that aren't needy are too, as are all of their human counterparts! LOL!!

She said okay, and repeated it. Then I said Bourbon. She said Dat anuder one? I said, yes. I said Bailey and she looked at me and said, How many are dere??!!! I just laughed.

Thank you so much for thinking of my baby Daisy girl! For those of you who didn't read my other post, Daisy has a bump on her chest. The earliest vet appointment that we could get is two weeks away! I guess I'll be adding another one guys. :(

I just heard word from my mom today that my cat Tinker is sick. :(

She started feeling poorly a couple of days ago--Mom thought it was because Tink got into the trash and ate a few things she wasn't suppose to. It could be a liver disease or lukemia...we are waiting on the bloodwork results. They are treating her for an infection right now. The vet thinks that it might be an infection in the bladder that has moved up to the kidneys. He bioped the bladder and there were bunches of bacteria. She is tender in the intestines and kidney area, as well. :( Her fever was 104-105.

She goes in on the 7th for another exam.

Please pray for us!

Much love and prayers to all of the sweet animals - listed on this board and NOT listed on this board - who need it.

Our pets are such a blessing to us.

I watch a show on Animal Planet about the ASPCA Police in NYC - everytime I watch them save another abused and neglected animal, I look over at my two pooches and hug them and remind myself and them how blessed we are.

Peace...

I just read this on another prayer board. Hope you don't mind me posting it...

"I am homebound and disabled. I have a wonderful dog named Julie who was lost when she was pregnant. We know she had her puppies in some woods a few miles from my house. We have searched and searched but we cant find Julie or her puppies. Please pray for their safety and for their safe return home to me. I love Julie so much. My life feels empty without her. Thank you." ~C.C.

Wonderful news about Sophia bun bun. I need to know if I can add a very special dog to the prayer list...but this dog is not part of our close-knit group. Her name is Sam and she is a golden retreiver mix with an exceptional personality. She was adopted from the shelter almost a year ago by a co-worker of mine. He and his wife love Sam so much and are so greatful to have her, she was the perfect addition to their family.

My co-worker and his wife went on vacation a couple of weeks ago, and they decided not to take Sam, so instead they found a VERY reputable kennel where she would get a yard to play in and 2 walks every day. Well...Sam was not happy with being left at that place so she jumped the fence and she was struck by a car. Sam is very ill, and she may have permenant brain damage. She has been at the vet's office for the last week and 1/2 and today my co-worker is taking her to the neurologist today to determine if she will get better. If the news is bad, then Sam will be put to sleep to end her suffering.

She is sure loved, and my coworker and his wife are completely devistated. I have been saying a prayer for Sam, if I could have more prayers and positive energy sent her way it might help her healing.

Thanks.

Sam is definitely going to be in our prayers. You might want to consider opening up a separate topic just for her. My heart is sooooo heavy after reading your post. :( :( I actually feel like crying for the poor girl. What a tragedy..... Lord, please send your angels to comfort Sam. May your healing hand be upon her if it is your will. Give the veterinarians the knowledge to do what is best for her in this most important time of need. You are the author of life and care for even the smallest of creatures. Please have mercy on Sam. Amen.

My heart is certainly heavy, thinking about Sam too. Bless her sweet heart, and those of her owners. I know they were doing what we have all done before, and thinking she was in the safest possible environment. Poor Sam and her poor family, I'm so sorry to hear what happened. We will keep Sam in our thoughts and prayers, maybe all the positive thoughts will help turn the tide for the better for her. That is so sad.
Logan we take our babies on vacation with us so I don't have to worry, but even if we go out shopping or out to dinner I worry the whole time and can't wait to get back home to make sure they are o.k.

Zippy, I am so thrilled and relieved that Sophie did fine!! Hugs and kisses all around; and you, I KNOW, are breathing one big sigh of relief!

Leslie, I am sickened and so heart sick to her about Sam. Especially so, because I too, have recently had to deal with a similar situation. I work at a kennel, and last Fri. night, a new boarder, a husky, vacationing from Ohio, lifted his latch and scaled two 6' fences. Hearing that news was so unbearable. I could only imagine the shock, horror and agony as the family got the news. We contacted every vet, animal control officer and radio station on the Cape. Each of us spent hours on our time off, driving everywhere looking for Robby. Every night I cried and prayed he would be found. Every day I saw his bag of dogfood on the kennel shelf, and would start crying all over again. As you know, kenneled dogs do NOT keep the collars/tags on for fear of choking. He was chipped though. Then, as the family was about to return to Ohio without their Robby, we got the call. Robby was found in a town 20 miles away! This family was incredibly lucky, and so was Robby. Why couldn't Sam have been lucky too?

Please, God, please, make a miracle. Heal this beautiful creature who is so loved, and who's only mistake in life was desperately wanting and needing to be back with her family. I pray that Sam will somehow recover from this tragic, tragic accident. We all love you Sam. We send you and your family our prayers and love.

tatsxxx11

And please, too, return sweet Julie to her mom, safely in tow with puppies. She needs, misses and loves Julie so much. Please God, make another miracle.

We could sure use some prayers right now.. my friends paint horse and palamino shetland pony have been missing since saturday morning :( we have no idea what happened to them we searched everywhere. It makes me sick to think that they might have been stolen :( but it is a possibility. The paint has a bowed tendon and the pony is wearing a nylon halter witch is bad because nylon dosen't break if it gets snagged on something :( so can you please add Bugs and Star to the list? we could use all the prayers we could get at time like this :( thanks everyone

Prayers for those horses. I sure hope someone didn't steel them...I can't imagine how much your friend is grieving.

Best of luck to sweet Daisy on her upcoming eye surgery, I know how scary surgery is and I will pray for the best.

I am back after another weekend without pettalk :( I did want to let you know the latest on Sam, the lovely golden retriever mix who was struck by a car while her owners were on vacation. The neurologist appointment went well, Sam has some pretty severe spinal cord injuries, but it seems that the only casuality is going to be one of her hind legs. She had some nerves severed in the accident and she will never use that leg again. She is going to be getting it amputated but SHE IS GOING TO LIVE!!! and that is the most wonderful news. Sam will be going into surgery to get her leg amputated soon, as it is a dead limb. I'll let you know about any changes as they come. I firmly believe that with all of the positive energy and the wonderful prayers Sam will live. She will be a 3 legged dog, but she will be fine and is expected to make a full recovery after her leg amputation. You are all angels. I can't thank you enough for all the prayers. My co-worker and his wife also thank you with all of their hearts.

God bless you all.

What wonderful news about Sam! An answer to our prayers!!!!! There are many 3 legged dogs who do just wonderful. Goldens are very athletic dogs so she should do fine. Especially since she has such as wonderful sounding family to take care of her and give her extra loving!

Glad Graham is doing better too!

I pray the horses are returned or found soon. I can't imagine someone being so heartless to steal an animal.

I am so sorry to hear of the missing Bugs and Star! How frightening to find those babies missing. I will pray with all my might that they are simply off on a long wander and will be home soon. Or perhaps if they were stolen, they will be noticed and the thieves apprehended. I hope most of all that wherever they are, they are safe.

I just wanted to let you know that you can take Gigio off the list. We had to take the sad decision to put him to sleep on Tuesday. The last couple of days he was just laying on the floor, refused to eat and had become incontinent. It was so sweet on Saturday night he insisted in crawling in my bed and slept wrapped around my neck all night, it was the first time in weeks and also the last time he left the kitchen. I have no regrets with him, we found him when he was only a few months old and lived very happily for over 18 years. It's strange not to see him around though.

I just wanted to thank everyone who prayed for him.

Gio,
You are the second person on Pet Talk that we are giving our condolences too. :( What a sad day we are having here on Pet Talk. Look forward to the day when you will see your loved one waiting for you as you cross into heaven.

Incidently - I use to wonder if my dogs would be in heaven. I asked a very wise man (a beloved pastor) when I was grieving over one of my dogs. His answer was the most profound I have ever heard on the subject. He said "Candy - heaven is being prepared for you as we speak. If you will need to have your pet in heaven in order to be happy then your pet will be there". I never doubted again whether they were there because they have given me such joy here on earth that I know they will be waiting for me there! I do believe!!!! :)

Hopefully someone else finds comfort in those words as I did several years ago and still do to this very day.

Dear Gio, Yes, this is a very sad day here on Pet Talk. No matter how long they are with us, how old they are, it is never easy to say good-bye to these most devoted and loving of companions and friends. My deepest most heartfelt sympathy to you Gio. Dear, precious, Gigio. Play and run and frolick in the sunshine and flowers there at the Rainbow Bridge until the day comes when you and your mommy are reunited. My babies are there. I know they will give you a paw and show you the way. We send our love to you Gio and to you beautiful Gigio. Love, Sandra

Dixieland Dancer, what a perfect thing your pastor said to you. I came to that same realization myself after losing my cocker spaniel, Freckles.
Heaven is supposed to be perfect paradise, but, for me, there would be no paradise if my beloved pets were not there with me. I do honestly beleive that there is a place like the rainbow bridge, where all our pet friends are happy and healthy and waiting for us.

Gio, I am very sad to hear of the passing of Gigio, I'm sure those 18 years with you were very happy for him. He is now over the Rainbow bridge, young again and playing with all the other animals there before him.

For Gio, Staci, and everyone who has lost a precious furkid.

God Bless Our Pets

They say memories are golden
Well, yes, this may be true
I never wished for memories
I only wanted you

A million times I needed you
A million times I cried
If love alone could save you
You never would have died

In life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a special place
No one can ever fill

If tears could build a stairway
And heartache pave a lane
I'd walk the path to heaven
And bring you back again

Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again

Please keep Killian in your prayers. He is having an "episode?" of no appetite again for almost a week. He's loosing weight. He will be going to the vet next week for more tests to see what his liver is doing. I think he needs to see a specialist for his mouth. His breath is atrocious. However, we will be doing the ammonia test first to see if the odor is because of his liver disease and not his mouth.

Hi. I'm glad you have updated your list. It may not be my Lilly who is listed, but if it is, please take her off. She is only a little "fat", but certainly not like some of these others that really need our prayers. Our Lilly can be taken care of with diet and exercise (just like her Mom, if I would just try it :o ). In fact, if I didn't have the ailing back, I'd take that girl and get her weighed at the vet's office. I am certain that she looks thinner and I have had two innocent third parties tell me the same thing with no prodding from me!! Yippeee!!!!!!

Our prayers go out to the rest of you. And if you want to include us in your general prayers for everyone and their pets, feel free. We certainly include all of you and yours in ours! :)

Hi everyone. Thank you for including Sam in your prayers even though she is not my dog. I strongly believe in the power of prayer, and without it I don't know if Sam would have made it. I need your help again, I am afraid. I know this is the dog board but I need prayers sent to a little grey and white kitty named Oliver. He is owned by a girl who works in my same building and he was just diagnosed with a very rare and very serious form of cancer. He's only 2 years old. The vet said that he got cancer from being vaccinated, of all things. His owner is extremely afraid, this kitty is her baby. The biopsy will determine whether or not it is early enough to be treatable, or if it is terminal. She will do anything necessary to keep her baby alive, as long as he is not showing any signs of being in pain. We had a nice, heartfelt talk today and I promised that I would ask my friends here on Pet Talk to help with this very special young kitty. So please, if you have enough room in your prayers, add little Oliver because he sure could use the power of prayer right now. Thank you so much.

I just found out this morning that my boss' Cairn Terrier, Grant, had a seizure.
She just had him go to the vet yesterday, for Teeth and ear cleaning and she said he didn't come out of the anesthia very well. So she let him sleep with her last night and this morning at 5am he had a seizure. She is really freaking out b/c she knows what I just went thru with Shaianne. Shaianne's first seizure happened right after she went under anesthia.
Please add Grant to the Prayer list.
Thank you.

Just FYI...don't mean to upset you, but I don't want anyone wondering what the outcome was for Oliver, my co-workers' cat. Well I am afraid it is not good news at all. Oliver is terminal. The cancer has metastasized (sp?) beyond hope. He is going to live out his short life happy, and he will be sent to the rainbow bridge when he has pain or his quality of life is decreased.

As of now, he is just a happy kitten, he is not in pain and he's eating and drinking great. We had a good cry session last week when I heard the news :( She is taking it well, being responsible, and trying to stay strong.

I was just going to add Pup to the list for the lump on her head, and I see that she has already been added! Thanks!

The lump has been diagnosed as fairly harmless, but if it doesn't go away naturally, she'll have to have surgery in 6 weeks to remove it! So, now I'm praying that it just goes away.

Hugs and thoughts are with you.

Can I ask for just a few extra little prayers? Killian is having a spell of only eating half as much as he has been usually eating since last Saturday. I started his monthly meds early to try to help, but he is still not eating all his food. However, he is acting fine and at least he is eating something. These episodes scare me, but it is the nature of the disease. Thanks!!

dEAR PaL kILLI! Star here. Oh KiLLI PAL, me and the Codster were so sad to hear that you were not feelin much like eatin. You know, you are one a our bestest buds. So, me and Cody thought what can we do to help KILLi feel better? So we knocked our heads together and put paw to paper and we wrote BOTH God AND Santa and promised that, if God would make you well again, we would be good FOREVER. And we also told Santa that he could keep all our Chrismy presents, including rawhides, cookies, balls, beds and stuffies. I think they were listening. So, pretty soon, we just know that you're gonna be woofin yer vittles down just like before. Well, that's our Chrismy wish for this year. We wish and pray that Killi, and all our critter pals who are feelin poorly gets well real soon. We love you Killi, our hero. Love, yer pals, Star and Cody

And Rocky and Sheba. You know how we IDOLIZE you guys. Please get better soon. We think about you ALL the time. And we said extra prayers and wrote Santa about you too! Love, Star and Cody, your pals forever.

Oh, Star and Cody, you are the bestest friends!!!! Don't give up your Crismiss presents for me. You could be good though!! (Aunt Sandra would like that! Ha-ha!) Mom is trying to get me to eat. She gave me some steak today even though it is a great big no-no (high protein). She said something is better than nothing. I ate it. I wouldn't eat anything else, though. I just don't have an appetite for a while. With your prayers, I'll problably pull through this episode, too. Mom says that the poisons in my blood don't get cleaned up in my liver so they go in my bloodstream and to my brain. It tells me I'm not hungry. Mom says these episodes will go on til the end. But that won't be for a long time though, right? Right! Thank you for sending me your love and prayers. Hugs to you guys!!
Love, Killi

Thank you , logan and everyone on the board for having Zack on your list. He will have his second part of heartworm treatment this Friday. I am very worried.
He is doing very well since he's home last Thursday. He had his first bark (first time to us), first belly rub (he was not intrested before, but he is crazy about it now) and he is such a clown to us.
Thank you so much for caring Zack so much. And we hope all furbabies here on the list are getting better soon.

Stenograsaurus,

Next time you update your list,
It should be ok to remove Rocky. :)
I just got back from the vets,
and his paw is finally healing.
He still has to be under house arrest for
one more week and antibiotics, but
after that he should be able to
go outside again. Finally, poor dog
as been in the house for 5 weeks,
accept to pee and poop.
He probably has a bundle of pent up energy
to release. :)

And Keegan can be taken of the list, The vet said that it was a common infection puppies get and put her on an antibiotic.

I am very glad to share this with you, that the nose bleeding problem can be removed from Zack's healthy condition. The doctor found out that is caused by a broken bone from his nose, they did removed it and everything else looks fine (no turmor!).
But please keep Zack on the list, he just had his heartworm treatment part II today. and he still has his skin problem on his legs. thanks. and have a great day.

Hi Quanzhan! Although it pains me to say this, I am glad to hear that the nose bleeding was due to a broken nose, and not a tumor! This sweetheart has been through SO much! I hope he is resting quietly and comfortably after his last heartworm treatment. Please give him my love. Has he had a chance to paw up his Xmas wish list yet? ;)

Thanks so much for your prayers for Zack.
I have some very good news for you all. Zack is heartworm free now (He had the test yesterday). Thank you so much for being there for us during this very difficult time.
Please take his name off the list. Eventhough we still have to fight his skin problem (we have to stop all his treatment for his skin problem when he had that nose bleeds), but I think his name could be taken off from the list.
Thanks again.
