Well, I'm starting it early. I'm going to pout now. Tomorrow is the day that I have to give Dio up for the 2nd time and I'm not looking forward to it. I need a pick me up before I drive to Gurnee, IL tomorrow which is between 3 1/2 and 4 hours from home.

Let's see...I haven't had a Mexican Coffee for awhile...I'll have one of those (not only that the air is rather crisp now!)

Gee, the bar seems to be opening sooner and sooner all the time. Richard, get Mugsy what she's wants and put it on my tab. In fact there are so many celebrations this week, I'll pay for them all. I love this fantasty of having lots and lots of money. Oh, I wish. I think Richard said this week's theme was Octoberfest so get those Brats a cookin' and that Beer chilled.:D :D

Welcome Cinder & Smoke and Phred to the Thursday's Bar. Beer Brats do sound good!!
It's cold and rainy here today so I want a hot apple cider to kick things off, please Richard!:D

Boy, am I ready for Thursday!! I missed posting last week but checked in occassionally. Was a horrible week.

It's cool here and I'm cold - what can I get that will warm me up. Coffee and Bailey's possibly or maybe Kahlua. Oh that sounds good! Should warm me all the way to my toes. :D

Man, I can't type and that's what I do for a living

RICHARD

If i drink enough beer I become a brat!?!?!?!

lol..
i HAVE to work today.....

so can we start tomorrow?????

It will give everyone a chance to get their costumes ready for tomorrow!!!

Logan
09-30-2003, 01:00 PM
I'm ready too! In fact, I was ready last Friday night!!!! Someone crashed into my car as I was driving to pick up Helen from a local football game. I can't drive it and I think a nice drink would perk me right up!! I can wait until Thursday, but if we drink one in Mugsy and Dio's honor, then I'll do it earlier too!

Molly, I know you are upset already, and I don't blame you. Fingers, paws and claws crossed that this will be a wonderful new home for him. :)

Beer and brats! Yummy!!! Seeing as how I'm from Wisconsin - land of beer and brats - I'll bring the brats. My mom knows this old fashioned meat market out in the middle of nowhere in WI that makes their own sausages - weiners, brats, you name it. And yes, they are weiners. Different than your normal average hot dog that you buy in the grocery store. Mugsy actually got to see some of these at the Memorial Day Bark Park get together. Don't know if she tasted one, but I know she saw them. They're WAY better than one of those "skinless" things you get at the store. ;) :D And their brats are way yummier than Johnsonville brats too, if you can imagine that. :D

So I put the order in last week with my mom and sent down 20 lbs of brats and some home made saurkraut and some brown mustard. So who wants one? :D

I haven't been feeling that good lately, so I think I'll wait for Thursday for a drink. Then I'll start the celebration because we're on vacation next week. On our way to the Amana Colonies - an historic German settlement in Iowa, which is keeping with the theme this week. :D Here's a link if you want to check it out.
Amana Colonies (http://www.amanacolonies.com)

Logan, sorry to hear about your car. Glad to hear you're ok though, and Mugsy, sorry to hear you have to give one of your babies up, but like Logan say, hopefully it'll be the best furrever home he could hope to find - next to yours anyway. :D

Logan
09-30-2003, 01:44 PM
Debbie, I checked out that website for Amana Colonies when you posted it earlier, and I wished to be there too!!!! :D Hope you feel better! You must, so you can enjoy your vacation!!

BTW, my car will be fine. I am slowly getting over my anger at that teenage boy, who wasn't supposed to be driving at night, nor with so many passengers! My insurance adjuster called me this morning at 7:20, and she is chomping at the bit to go after him, but she will concentrate on getting my car fixed first. It will all be ok, but I have been driving accident free, and only one speeding ticket, for over 25 years, and it just infuritated me for this to happen!!!!!

In a word...YES!!!

And it happens all the time! I've always heard that work is a four letter word, and I agree 100%. ;)

Wow, Logan, 25 years with no tickets or accidents?!!!? You're an insurance company's dream! But of course I'm sure even though you've paid in all those years with no claims, now your rates will go up just because of one incident. Sorry, but I don't envy you at all. Just the word insurance alone is enough to make my blood boil. Along with the word work of course. ;) :D

I did have one ticket, Debbie, over 13 years ago, in Charleston, SC. There was no sympathy from that police officer!!!! But that is it. I think that if the boy had been charged, as he should have been, I probably wouldn't be so upset with the damage to my car!!!! I really need to get over it!!!!! :o

You just feel better and take lots of pictures next week. That will help to heal me!!! :)

I'm practicing the chicken dance for Thursday and will be wearing my dirndel skirt. Let's roll out the barrel and party!

When the bar opens - I want a BEER (is there another drink for Octoberfest?):D

Actually I haven't had a drink all day today because there's no bartender. But, tomorrow is another day and if Richard's up to it, I'll buy a round for house.

My problem is that there are too many people and I trip all over the posts and pillars..:D :D Must need new glasses.

Logan, I am really sorry to hear about your car. Why wasn't the boy charged? Or maybe I shouldn't ask. You still have a great record and should be proud.

I would love to buy everyone a round with so much to celebrate.

Don't worry about asking, Gini. It is a great mystery to all of us as to why he wasn't charged. No one was charged, which means the insurance companies will have to fight it out. The highway patrolman said that he isn't allowed to charge when there are no witnesses and no physical evidence. Helen could look at the cars and tell whose fault it was, but not him! My insurance company is ready to fight it out, and I will let them. If they didn't I would.

It will be ok, and I'm having fun driving Scott's Expedition! He might not get it back!!! :o

I'm not even going to go there ;) Hey Richard, will they let you wear liederhosen at work? Can't wait to see the dancing chickens and marching frogs doing the polka. In honor of Phred & his fur kids attending (of course dogs are allowed, this is Dick's place!) I'll cook the saurkraut at home and bring it along separately. I have a feeling the smell might not go over well. And of course we have a sign already posted that says "NO KLAM JUZ ALLOWED".

Schwarzwalderkirschtorte (black something cherry(?) cake/tart)

Zippy *giggles* as the only oompas she knows are the oompa loompas from willy wonka and the chocolate factory and reckons they'd drive something similar the shriner's parade cars. Zippy *laughs hysterically* as she imagines the the Thursday gang -all three sheets to the wind- piled into a shriner (oompa loompa?) car and driving to find her.

Welcome back M&M - it isn't a party without you.

A hippopotamus walks into a bar and asks the bartender for a beer. "That will be $7.50 please" says the bartender. So the hippo gives the bartender his money and starts to sip his beer. "You know we don't very many hippos in here" mutters the bartender.

The hippo replies, "At these prices it's no wonder!"

A baby seal walks into a club.

(I love seals and I am very anti-fur --unless it's "live" fur ;) -but I find that joke disturbingly funny. It's even funnier as we told it to my cousin when she went into labor. Later, after they had doped her up, she tried to tell it to the doctors. Her version? "A baby seal gets hit in the head with a club." She laughed her head off and couldn't figure out why the doctors didn't think it was funny.)

Well, I'm feeling a bit better now, but this morning I was not in a party mood. There's soooo many sad things going on: Aly's Peka, Cincy's Mom's Marty, Glaciers Preacher and Zippy's Aunt Nancy. I have been in tears most of the morning over this because I guess I just care too much about you. God, I'm such a sap!!

but.....as the saying goes....life goes on.

I see Richard hasn't been here much today either. Richard, put down that budget report and join me for a beer. Let's toast the latest Pillars!!! Better stay away from the Brats and the sauerbraten though. Wind, you know.

I'm feeling better as the day goes on too, Slick. Whatever it is that is making me not feel good these days was pretty strong this mornig - and NO it's NOT morning sickness! But since I got back from lunch I'm feeling better and better (Mugsy those brats of Mike's are awesome, sauerkraut included!), and now the boss left, so I feel fantastic! :D

Zippy -  I am surprised to hear that kind of joke from you, but I agree that it's funny in a sick way - and the story about your cousin was even funnier. :D

Here in Debbieland, we say putz when you're sort of dilly dallying around. Like "We had a putzy day last Saturday" meaning we didn't have much on the agenda and just "putzed" around all day. So Putzmeister seems like a German that doesn't get much done.....??? :D

Cincy's Mom, Terry was near Cleveland, OH last night and he said there was snow on his car this morning!  It's way too early for snow!

I always like to have people know that California has it all.
You can go to the beach/ocean in the morning, go to the desert for a late lunch and snow ski in late afternoon. That is, if you are absolutely nuts! But you could do it.

Oh no, Richard, your car smells like sauerkraut? You needed an air freshener? Oh, poor guy!

How many drinks have been served? Well I don't know, but our local trash collection service has added a service charge for Richard's address. How could one person fill up two huge containers for recycling every single week. And they can't understand his habits. One week it's all tequila bottles, this week it will be all beer bottles. But scattered among those bottles are diet coke cans, iced tea cans. They just can't figure this guy out. Talk about a drinking problem!

For next week...

How 'bout a "thank goodness the #@$#@$ California recall election is over and done with and now we can get back to other things" party?

That is pretty funny. I had no idea that our election/recall had slithered across the border into Oregon. (please appreciate my word - "slithered")

I totally agree - but my guess is that we will need to find an "Austrian" theme to be politically correct next Thursday.

But then again, maybe we will need to re-count the votes.

god forbid

so then, a hanging chad party? In the rafters with the thongs?

Last night, while driving home I heard on the radio - "you got to love California, thanks to them we're no longer the laughing stock of the country:D :p "

I don't know, but if there's no underwear at the party - clean or otherwise - some of those chads just might end up pregnant!

Ah, just tell 'em to pull up a seat and join the party.

Or, you could just tell them that you are so happy that the budget reports balanced.

BTW, if you are laughing that hard, you'll pee your pants, but that's OK. You said you carry a spare pair of gonch wherever you go anyway so I guess it doesn't matter.:D

Speaking of elections: the rest of the country could do what Kansas does (or at least my little corner of it). They give us a ballot and a sharp pencil and we get to color the circle beside the name of the person we want to vote for. Not a hanging chad in the bunch plus the fun of coloring.

Um ... Zippy, I'm not sure Indians WORE underwear.
I have a Cherokee and a Sioux on my family tree and in all my research, I've never found undies mentioned. Then again, that's something you usually don't discuss a lot around the campfire. :D

OK folks, it's 6:30 on a Saturday morning & I'm about to go to work thinking of some poor chump named Chad that's about to be hung by a thong on the rafters. Then along comes a tornado and wisks him away to KANSAS. Thank doG this thread makes some sense
