Construction on SuperCatGym has begun!

Well, we've been talking about it forever and this weekend we finally started building the ultimate super cat indoor gymnasium. It's so cool and the boys already think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. They're up and down and going crazy in it already and it's not even complete.
Here are the photos of what we did this weekend. We hope to finish it next weekend. I've drawn in what's to come. Tonight I'm going to get some string toys to hang and dangle from the bottom of the platforms so they have toys. Then I'm going to spray the base with catnip smell.
You can get some idea of scale by Chris. He's 6'4" tall.
Now, who says Rocky and Taz are spoiled!!!

Hee hee. It's funny, we looked online for ideas and it is amazing what these things cost. Something this size is easily $1500. And we built it for $90 in materials. But it is alot of work.

Your kitty gym is gorgeous. Please make sure that your hanging toys are "break-away". My husband recalls once having a little "ghost" hanging on a string for his kitty. He came home and found the collar attached to the toy. :eek: :eek: The kitty was ok but it sure gave him a scare.

We finished the house last night and quickly learned we should've built two. They boys can't decide who's house it is!!! They're having a great time, though. Will finish the sisal rope and hang the toys this week. Then I'll post finished pics. This is a hoot!

We didn't have any plans. We went online to see what liked and didn't like. Then just sketched what we wanted. It's all "from the hip" and much of it was from materials we had scrap in the basement. Turned out pretty good. At least the boys think so:)
