I am planning to get a boxer, I have heard that they are very good tempered and very trainable, but I also heard that females are better family pets than males, can anyone who owns or are used to boxers let me know some characteristics of boxers so I can think it threw fully! Thanks, if anyone has any suggestions or info you can email me at [email protected] or IM me on AOL at doglover9501! Thanks

I have lots of friends with boxers. :) They are very clownish and always make you laugh. However, they need to be taught at an early age not to jump up or bite. I'm sure you know how those boxing paws can be lethal weapons! And when riled up, a boxer can get very bite-happy and not realize that they might hurt someone. They don't bark alot, but they make alot of snorting and growling/grumbly noises.

I've got a boxer/pitbull mix who's by far the most trainable dog I've ever had. :)

He's even tempered, very clownish, sweet and is one of the few dogs I've had that doesn't jump up or lick.

I'd never describe him as smart, but he does learn quickly enough and aims to please.

I'd definately consider getting another boxer.
