Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens? I'm just starting to read it, tough book, but it sounds good. Has anyone read it? If so, didja LIKE it? :)

Loved it. If you decide to watch a film version DO NOT get the Ethan Hawke one. Blech.

Yep, we read that book last year in English. We also watched the film, I can't remember if it was the Ethan Hawke one or not. I liked it.

Was the film set NOW? Ie not the same as the book? Then that's the Ethan Hawke one. Its set modern, very silly dialgue. He's a painter in NYC or something.

Oh no, it wasn't that version. It was the "original" version, I guess you could call it....

Sorry but I hated it! Had to read it in school and have never forgotten how much I disliked it. Ugh. I liked The Red Pony by John Steinbeck. That was sad. Also, Where the Red Fern Grows.

Perhaps my favorite book of all time, by my favorite author! The original movie version is wonderful! The "modern," Ethan Hawke version has nothing to do with this literary masterpiece, as far as I'm concerned! Yuck is right!

We have to read that for 8th grade adv. literature. I don't know anything about it though!
