I've been working everyday with Oz on the teeter totter.
This is our obstacle nemesis. He doesn't like the movement
under his feet, so I've been really trying to make it fun
and we've made quite a bit of progress. So I was gonna
see if I could get a pic of him on it at lunch today.

Murph had other ideas though. He plopped himself
on it and wouldn't get off.:) Totally fearless that boy.
Doesn't even bother him, if Oz steps on the one end,
bouncing him around.

So I got some pics of Murph on the teeter instead. I might
try again tonight to get some of Oz.

hi cincy's mom!

I wish I'd have thought to socialize Oz to things moving
under his feet when he was a puppy. Just totally didn't
think of it. Too busy trying to get him to walk on a leash.

He's getting better at it, as I've been working on slowly
building him towards walking across the whole thing.
Plus I make a huge fuss whenever Murph sails across it,
so that has helped too. He doesn't want Murph getting
more attention than him.

Go Sadie!

I think Maddie is about 3 years old in that pic and those
are my favorite pics of her. Wish I could get some of
Murph and Oz in the bluebonnets too. Maybe try this
spring. Thanks!

hola micki!

He's been teaching Oz to lift his leg on things as of late.
Wish he'd have kept that one to himself.;) But other then
that, he has been a most wonderful teacher for Oz.:)

What a mental picture I just got of Oz some day standing on one end and sending Murph flying! LOL! I sure hope you are there to catch him. :D Murph is just a little doll on the teeter totter and oh so brave! It looks like in no time Oz will be joining in. The pictures are great! I just love seeing pictures of your dogs! Oz has such dreamy eyes. :) By the way, your lawn looks like carpet. How do you keep it so nice and green without any "pee spots?" :o :)

How cool that you have the teeter totter for them to practice on. Do you have other agility equipment as well? Did you make this or is it a piece of equipment that you have borrowed?

The pictures are just wonderful. More please, if you have them.

Hehe...Murph is so brave! What a cute boy! :D How did you ever teach them to climb on it? I know my 2 would be "Okay, you want me to get on THAT THING?!" ;)

Oz is handsome as always! :D I love his markings...so unique. He does have some merle in him, doesn't he? :)

P.S. I love your grass! lol, its so green! We *used* to have grass like that...wayyy before we got the dogs.

I remember par saying that he's a sable merle. :) That's my favourite on a smooth collie, on a rough collie sable merle doesn't look as defined.

Great pics! I love that Oz boy, he's always so gogeous! :)

Maddie says she could do with a lil' less macho. She's getting
a wee bit weary of 2 dogs now following her around, waiting for her to
pee, so they can compete to pee over it.:)

hi pam!
I had that mental picture too, when Oz was standing on one end, as Murph was toodling up
to the top. I would have liked to get a pic, but I was too busy grabbing the board
and lowering Murph down gently to the ground.
Murph and Maddie have never left pee spots, but Oz does. It's been raining quite a
bit lately, which I think helps and he's also started lifting his leg and peeing on
the shrubs vs. the grass. So no more brown spots in the grass, just have to worry
now about all my plants dying.:)

hola rachel!
I made a couple of pieces, but have bought most of the stuff from affordable agility.
I've got everything except the dog walk and the a-frame now. I'll probably get those
in the next month or two, because Oz's best obstacles in class are the ones he gets
to practice on at home. Just going to make mowing that much more of a chore though.

hi there anna!

I think what has really made a difference with Oz, besides seeing Murph having so much
fun on it, was to set up a mini teeter in the house. It's just a 6 ft board that lays
on a 3 inch square post. To get him use to movement under his feet, I started having
him paw the one end down. In the beginning he'd only just touch it very gently, but
he's now slamming it to the ground. I think he's starting to get the concept that it's
not so bad.

hey there goldenretrluver!
It was actually really easy to teach Murph. I didn't even go through the slow build up
steps that they taught in class. I lured with a treat across it slowly twice and after
that he was running across it, without the lure. He runs across it so fast, that it
slams to the ground and his feet actually leave the board as it bounces. Oz just looks
on in total amazement. I'd really like him to "wait" at the pivot point and let it descend
slowly, but he does not get the point of that, like I'm taking all the fun out of it.

Oz is a Sable Merle. I didn't even know that color existed, until I got him. Gotta
say I love that color as much as Blue Merle now.:)

Thank ya Esster!

LOL Uabassoon! That's exactly what my best friend said
when she saw the pics too. I had to have him "Stay",
so I could get the pics and he was not too thrilled with
that. He prefers to get on, get his treat and get off quickly.:)
