Pics of Puppies *Not* Eating

My babies want to stay on the bottle forever. This is attempt number 2 at trying to get them to eat their "mush" (Esbilac mixed with canned puppy food). I always have to try it with them in a box because the mess is unbelievable at the end.

At first it seemed like they would eat. Piper even took a few slurps.

Sebastian started screaming and crying and looking around for me and the bottle.

Then Piper joined in the screaming and crying.

Then Sebastian decided to actually take a few slurps too...

...And decided he wanted the bottle afterall!

I stopped taking pictures at that point because I went to go make them some bottles. When I got back, they had the whole plate of food spread all over the box and themselves. Needless to say, they got their first bath tonight.

Oh heavens! Silly little things. Kind of like how I never want to move away from home, grow up, get a job....do any of that stuff! Who wants to leave the cushy life!

I can imagine their distressed puppy screams are quite shrill and unnerving. That would be hard on me, I know.

The size difference is quite obvious in these pictures!

Now kids, realize you won't be on the bottle forever, but "milk" Aly for all she's worth! Heeheehee!

Aly they are sooooo cute!! Piper is so incredibly tiny! Or is Sebastian just really big? Oh, what a mess to clean up. Hopefully they’ll start eating their mush soon. I know that’ll be 100 times easier on you!

Aly, they are so adorable! You are so lucky to see them going through their lives, growing up! It must be quite an experience, you must learn a lot, because I don't see too many people bottle feeding pups! We would love to see some more pics of them!

2 of them have died :( Both of them were small ones, but Piper was smaller than them. I'm pretty sure Piper was the smallest, but its been 3 weeks since I've seen the whole litter together so I'm not positive. I am feeling really bad and wishing I had taken the other small ones as well. They are a lot harder to keep alive :(

Aly, don't feel bad. You're doing wonderfully for Sebastian and Piper. You're their Angel Mommy! :) Remember that everything happens for a reason, (cliche, I know) and perhaps those pups just weren't developed enough to survive even if they had their birth mother.

You're doing a great job and, (I know it sounds hokey, but it's true) you're one of my heros. :)

Aly....did you notice the newspaper said "Sale"? I have my hands full with a 2 year old but I admit I am so jealous! What I wouldn't do to just caress and kiss those silly little characters! You're such a good mom! You of all people, should never ever feel guilty about anything!! You're an angel!

I'm packing up my babies now. They are going to stay with a friend for the weekend so I can get some sleep. The friend they are staying with also volunteers at the shelter so I know they'll be in good hands. I'm just going to MISSSS them soooo much :(

Hehe, I went and visited the puppies today already :) My friend is doing great with them and they are very happy. We let them run around her house today and just laughed at them stumbling all over themselves.

Aly they are too cute. I can imagine how much work that is for you but from the pictures it all just looks cute. You are such a great person for all you do for animals!
