What do you think of this?

What is a LifeGem?
A LifeGem is a certified, high quality diamond created from the carbon of your loved one as a memorial to their unique and wonderful life.

I don't know how I feel about that. I think it's a good idea, but I just can't see myself wearing my mom as a ring on my finger, what if I lost her!

Gives new meaning to heirloom jewelry! Instead of "This ring was my Great-grandmother's" it would be "This ring WAS my Great-grandmother!" Yipes! No thank you!

   oh just read it more, NO WAY I think this is weird too, but maybe its better than spreading their ashes somewhere, some people would rather have them with them forever so to speak I guess, but kinda freaks me out!!! CREEPY!!!

YES probably ok for a pet.

That's exactly what I was thinking--how do we know they don't have a stock room full of diamonds ready to hand out telling people it is their pet!!!

Creepy!!!!

From the Website: (http://www.lifegem.com/secondary/faq.htm#ensure)

How can you ensure the families that the LifeGem is indeed their loved one?
Legitimacy is our highest priority and ensuring you receive a LifeGem diamond created from your loved one is our number one goal. Therefore, our doors are open. Of course some intricacies are proprietary, but all other areas are available to witness to guarantee our clients comfort level. The LifeGem advanced tracking system monitors your specific LifeGem throughout the entire process. The LifeGem system follows the product from cremation to faceting with meticulous detail by highly trained product care specialists.

Then they have some teeney-tiny print underneath that:

(Although it is certainly not necessary, an additional "elemental" tracking procedure can be initiated if you desire. Please call for more information.)

Even so, I think I'll pass!!!
If someone lost a limb, I wonder if they could create a smaller diamond out of that? WAY weird!

I don't think I would do it, it's a little on the creepy freaky side. I think it's kind of funny though that instead of hitting a guy in his family jewels you can hit him with your family jewels...geez that was corny.
