I took IttyBittyKitty's and PCB's advice on cropping and I tried it with this picture. Ignore the backround, I just wanted to put some color to it. :p Anyways what do you think? :)

Thanks guys :)

PCB, I tried blurring them a bit. How would I "feather" them?

W:eek:W! My first attempt didn't even have much of the original pic left lol...I was horrible at it. What program are you using? I use photoshop but for any program, I use bigger brushes..maybe 40 for that pic and I make sure it's the "fluffier" eraser and not a solid one...that way, I can erase just enough to make it look nice and smooth. Also, feather works. I think for photoshop, you right click? I'm not sure..I haven't used that feature in a while.

Thanks Ash. :) Yeah I use Photoshop 5.5 (that's why I'm not sure if I have this feature. I'll have to check).

Primabella, you did NOT bug me when you asked me to crop Mickey's pic! I was more than happy to do so!

I made a pic trying to explain to you how to feather the edges when you crop. I hope it'll help!

Ps. I usually keep it at 5 when cropping. I find that 4-6 in the best, depending on the picture.

I tried IttyBittyKitty's zooming suggestion. What do you think. Its Muffin cropped into Popcorn's picture. I didn't take much time doing it carefully though. I was just testing the zoom feature. :p Which do you think is cropped better, the pic below which was cropped with zoom, or the pic in my sig, cropped without zoom and feathered?

Now, what I want to know is how you get that picture into another picture?!

You can have different Layers when you're cropping Pics, at least mines like that, I use PhotoImpression and I just take maybe 5 pics crop them down and put them on one background:D

I guess that's my problem. I don't really understand the "layering" thing. could you expalin a little more?

Thanks PCB. :) Hmmm you see I don't have any tools up there, I'll hav eto look to see if it's somewhere else. I like the zoom idea, it helped me a lot. :)

What do you keep at 5? :o

Anna, for example, my cropped picture I have two layers; the backround and Mickey. You can have many layers and then drag them onto eachother. Uh...I didn't explain that much better huh? Sorry. Lol...do you use Photoshop?

I could take 5 pictures of Ringo crop them all down and put them all on one background. Like in some people's signatures if they have multiple pictures like CamCamPup usually has two different Pics in her sig, one of Cali and one of Cami Well whoever made that sig cropped those two pictures down and put them on one background. Sry If I'm confusing you, I'm not an expert I just started messing around with my Picture program and sort of trained myself:D :p ;)

Great job Liana..:D

Sorry but I have a stupid "?":p When you are cropping a picture....your just cutting the image out of the background its aready in??

primabella

Thanks :)

Yes pretty much. It's just that it's a little hard with people or animals. Especially Mickey who has a lot of fur already, it makes it difficult to crop without making him look like he got shaved somewhere :p

Lol..I'm gonna try explaining the layer thing...

So, in my sig below I have maybe 7 layers at least. In the first layer, I have the black. Then 2nd layer I have the first tie pic. 3rd layer, other tie pic. 4th layer, lyrics. 5th layer, stars on the side. 6th layer, the part that says Kai. 7th layer border. After I'm done, I just save under .jpg format. It'll combine everything into one pic. I hope that made sense...

Back to this pic..........

See where the arrow's pointing? You can type a number there for the pixels feathered. I usually type 5 pixels there. :) To see that text box on the top, you must have the lasso tool to the left clicked on. If you look carefully at the pic, you can see that the lasso tool is *clicked*.

Anna, to get the picture onto another pic, you cut the picture you want to add, and then paste it onto the other picture. Then you can move the picture around and resize it to the position desired. :)

Oh sorry PCB. I didn't see that. :o Okay I don't think I have that tool on my Photoshop...

Thanks everyone:)

There is another way to get the feather I think..If you go under selection I believe there is an option that says 'feather'

Another question now, how do I do the border?

popcornbird
