a couple of nights ago a BIG lightening storm was going on at around 1-2am and a strike caused a HUGE fire on the mountains, fire ppl have been in planes trying to put it out, and over 1013 ppl have had to leave their homes because the fire is headed their way

I got some pic of it today with my godmother and her digital come. it is far more horrific at night, the sky glows red.

here are some pics of all the smoke and the planes. .... .

I was thinking about starting a thread about the fires up here. It seems like the entire interior of the province is on fire!! :( It's so scary. I hope everyone is ok. I will sure be praying for rain - but not storms with lightning!!!!

Please, everyone, pray for rain in BC. The fire fighters are exhausted and people are losing their homes. :(

I havent herd much about the fires near kamloops. mostly all my news is talking about it this one :(:(:(. This fire is going to reck my beautiful mountains. :(:(:(

   OMG

THAT is SCARY! We better call my uncle to ask how they're doing. He lives in BC! I hope they're alright.

Also hoping your family makes it home safely from camp. Its must be so scary with BC on fire and you all alone at home with so many pets to care for! Is the fire far from you?

Ps. Even though there's so much smoke, the first pic is beautiful! :)

I'm luckily very far away from the fires, but I have friends who live in Kamloops, and Nathan's family lives in Summerland and Oliver. There hasn't been ANY rain for over a month and it's been very hot weather. Everything is like kindling! :( I pray that people are safe.

No rain for over a month? We haven't had a drop of rain since February and there are no wild fires around here. It only rains here in the winter, even then, not so much. I know that it rains a lot in BC so 1 month must be a long time for you, but for us, it isn't much at all. Hope all is well with you British Columbians!

ya it has been a long time without a good fall of rain and everything is so dry and crispy, I am just glad lightening started the fire and not ppl. It isnt scary for me popcornbird, because the fire is one the other side of the lake, so I AM safe ;).

That's scarey! Hopefully it will be put out soon, before it reaches any homes. We've had several fires on the mountains here recently. Once the mountain right behind me burned, but we were on vacation at the time so I only came back to the charred black.
