I am finally getting around to posting my pictures from the St. Louis trip we just took.. We had soooo much fun. We went to the Weapons of Power 2003 conference.
Our hotel was right down the street from the arch... we rode up it and it was SO SCARY!!! I am proud to say I did it and didn't chicken out... but I won't do it again!

Here is our first look at St. Louis...

I am standing under the arch here... it stands 630 feet tall... *sounding like a tour guide*

When you ride to the top of the arch... you are in these egg shaped pods... they are soooo tiny. You can't even stand up in them. They hold 5 people and I think they ride on cables.. like an elevator.... Here we are at the top this picture is looking out to the west.

and now, ladies and gentlemen, if you look out this window... you will see out to the east... it is looking over the Mississippi River.

Glad you had fun. I can sometimes, on a clear day, see the arch, standing at the road behind my house. It's cool.

:) :D

I was wondering if anyone here was from St. Louis... but I couldn't figure out how to search it...

Have you ever ridden up the arch??

Yep, I've ridden up to the arch plenty of times... more like I've passed it on my way to somewhere else. I've never been up into it. I plan on going into it sometime soon with my boyfriend. :) :D How'd you like Missouri?

I really liked Missouri... Have you ever been to Bonne Terre Mine?

We went there and it was sooooo awesome.. but I forgot to bring my camera.... We couldn't find too much to do around the city... but we found that mine... and it was so much fun!!:D

Sara, your pictures are great!! Scott took his kids to St. Louis last summer. His dad lives there. I think he needs to go back and take Helen and me too!! I remember that while he was gone, I said "please don't ever leave again without taking us with you". A few weeks later, he asked me to marry him!!! One year ago this past weekend!!! :) :) :) We will get to St. Louis one day, together. And we'll go up in the arch too!!!!!

No, ;) it was a revival. Have you heard of Juanita Bynum? She holds the Weapons of Power conference every year.... and I was really blessed to be able to go this year..... It sold out and I know there was over 10,000 people there... and the first night everyone is supposed to wear white... It was sooooo POWERFUL.
:D

If you have never heard Juanita Bynum preach.... you might want to check her out. Other than my pastor she is my FAVORITE ... she preaches on t.v. a lot, on TBN and other channels I'm sure.:)

And the two before it, one looking West and one looking East, I have the exact same pictures at home! I think everyone who goes up there takes those same pics. :D

The cool part for me being up there was knowing that at one point in history everything West of there was wilderness, and had yet to be tamed by civilization. How neat it would have been to see it then! :D

Oh, and I wasn't thrilled with those little pod things either. Once I was to the top I was ok, but the trip up and down I could do without.

Sounds like you had a great time! And did the kitties give you the cold shoulder when you got back or were they extra lovey dovey? :D

I HATED BEING UP IN THAT ARCH!!!...

I hated the ride up .... the stay at the top and the ride down!!!

It is funny you have the same pictures.... I guess I never thought about that.. but it is true!!:D

No.. they were both wide-eyed.. and sniffed us a little bit... then they kept laying down showing their bellies.. so we could pet them.... then the following day they wouldn't leave our sides... they missed us....*tear rolling down cheek* ;)

How cool! I've never knew you could actually go up the arch! I've seen pics of it but didn't exactly know what it was, other than an *arch*. What exactly is it for and how do you get up there? It looks so fun and scary at the same time! Could you please tell more about it since I know nothing about the arch. :o Thanks for sharing the pics. They're wonderful!
