After seeing everyone elses I finally decided to get one. I thought they would be scared at first but they started drinking out of it as soon as I set it up.

Corkscrew sent Tibby first to test it out.

I guess I'll have to make room for myself then.

Wow, they dove right in. I think Ripley would absolutely love one of those since he begs for water from the bathroom sink. Scout probably would too since I catch her in the bathtub drinking the droplets running down the sides.

Are they very expensive? Last time I looked was a couple of years ago and the were around $50, has the price dropped yet?

I got mine at Petsmart for $37 a little pricey, but not too expensive.

I'm so glad that they like the fountain. I have a drinkwell fountain but had to take it down because a certain little orange kitty was playing in it and making a big mess. :( Hopefully he'll out grow this someday so I can use it again.

Tinky and Jupiter have the same fountain. They drink soooo much more water since i bought it than they used to.... I had to take the filter out though cause Tinky kept popping the top off and dragging the soaking wet filter into the living room. .. SILLY GIRL.

Ditto and likewise ... Pixel would probably spend her day sticking her head into it. Well, when she's not digging tunnels into her cat litter.

LOL@Tinky and Sunny, nawtee orangies making trouble for poor innocent water fountains!

I have seen those but I was wondering how they work? They filter the water correct? Do you just fill it with water every day and it flows all day long?

I've had one similar to that for years and years and years, and it only took years and years before I actually saw either T or P drinking out of it. For the first few years, I filled it about every 3rd or 4th day, so I thought most of the water was just evaporating. But now, since Tubby has been cut off from his favorite water supply - the toilet, I have to re-fill it every other day and I see him drinking out of it quite often.

The one I have I just add water to the bowl part and it sucks it up into the resevoir and runs it through the filter. The theory is that cats love the sound of running water and will drink more not just because of the sound, but because the movement keeps it aerated (sp?) and fresher longer. It does make a little noise, but it's mostly the noise of running water, not motor noise, and I wouldn't say that it's loud at all.

The cable guy was at our house the other day (got cable internet - yipee!!!) and he saw the fountain in the basement and said "What is that?" Terry explained it to him and the guy really didn't roll his eyes, but I could tell by his body language that that's what he wanted to do. Obviously not a cat lover. ;) :D

Here's Tubby drinking out of his. Like I said, I've had it for a long time, so it doesn't have the neat modern design the new ones have.

The one that I have makes no noise at all, I don't hear the running water sound which is a good thing because if I heard running water 24/7 I think it would make me have to pee a lot! And you can adjust how fast or slow the water poors down the ramp.
