I like the American because it looks like a reg. horse, but then the Original looks like what they are supposed 2 look like, Do you understand what I'm trying to say?

orignal, I hate it when people change a breed totally, they look nothing alike, and I have always prefered the orignal, of anything, even food for heavens sake.:)

really? i like how they made the King Shepherd; its just like a German Shepherd but without the skittishness. :D which is good because my aunt's German Shepherd was EXTREMELY skittish, like dangerously skittish, so after afew years they put him down. :(

I have never seen a Shetland pony that looks like the "American" one you posted. They are both fine-looking creatures to me!

Every pet, every animal is special.

Not ALL GSD's are skittish, cocker_luva, most I've known are not, skittishness can happen in any breed of dog, purebred or not.

Wow. I don't know much about horses, but I had no idea Shetland ponies looked like anything but the original. I had no idea that someone had bred an "American" shetland pony. Not only is that kind of sad, but kind of silly. A Shetland pony comes from the Shetland Islands, just like a Shetland Sheepdog. The Shetland Islands are a long way from America, last time I checked. That's kind of like breeding an American German Shepherd or an American Australian Shepherd.

The American pony looks just like a regular horse to me, although I assume it's indeed smaller. The original Shetland pony looks like what I've always seen and thought of as Shetland ponies.

Don't mess with Mother Nature!

I like the American, just because it looks like a normal horse. I don't like the short horses, I dunno why, I just do.

Original, ive never seen an american sheltland before!!
and WHAT is the point in that anyway theres no need to change the shetland!!
im in favour of improving a breed for better but theres nothing wrong with the shetland!!!
i love all shepherds!!!

There was an American Shetland at the barn I used to ride at, and it was the most adorable horse there. I just love it!
