Rats can live up to 3 years, sometimes longer with the right care. :)
Hamsters are around the same time, but I've had hamsters live as long as 5 years.
Guinea pigs can live around 8-12 years.
Im sure of a Gerbils, but I dont think its very long. :(

The average age for a rat to live is 2 1/2. Most pet store rats only live to a year. If taken care of very well, some rats can live up to 5. :) (Hopefully mine are in that category..)

My sister had gerbils for 13 years, and one lived up to be 6 years:eek: That's really old for a gerbil. They are only supposed to live to be around 3-4, but obviously if you take really good care of them, they'll live longer.

I own 2 guinea pigs, and their life span ranges from 5-10 years.
