Sorry thats a Cairn Terrier http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

If anyone can or knows anyone who can foster this little gal, please
let me
know. Permission to crosspost.

There is a wheaten female cairn mix at the Bakersfield/Kern County
Animal
Shelter in CA that is in danger of being put to sleep if she is not
adopted
soon. Impound#: 197238. Owner surrender, because they were moving. Age
unknown, temperament seems good. There is a picture of her at
http://www.CairnRescue.com/adoption/available.htm . If you can foster
her,
please email [email protected]. The Cairn Rescue Network is willing
to
sponsor her.

Oh gosh. Wish I wasn't on the other coast or knew someone in Ca. What a cutie! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/frown.gif I'm also surprised in that here, at our local shelters, the small ones are adopted within hours. Waiting lists for smaller dogs!! I'm just sickened when I think of how someone could surrender their loving companion and friend to almost certain death, "moving" being the reason. I've thought about what I would do if for some incredible reason I HAD to move to a place where I could not bring my girls. Family, friends, private adoption, newpaper ads, seeking out a no kill shelter ANYWHERE! I know of elderly couples who have put off a retirement move to a "no pets" residence for a year or more to assure adoption of their furkid by a loving family or facility. This shelter webpage says that these dogs are killed after only one day at a chance for adoption. I just can't believe that given a chance, this pup wouldn't be adopted in a flash. Sorry I cannot help. His little face will be with me all night.
