OMG, KatMa (me) and Paw-Paw (my husband) are all alone tonight. No Sasha to sleep with us, purring gently in my ear.

Today our angel girl had her teeth cleaned AND a molar extracted. Poor sweetheart. I went to visit her at 3 p.m. and she actually growled at her KatMa! Tonight we both went to visit our furkid -- she looked better to me but her Paw-Paw was freaking out. She growled again, but a less fierce version than earlier.

Our furkid was abused & abandoned. When she adopted me, Sasha was pregnant with 5 kittens (born July 18, 1995). Sasha was about 14 months old (max) then. She had been left out all winter and we have cold winters in Montreal -- and the tips of her ears froze. One tip fell off. Some lowlife who takes up oxygen & space and should really be pushing up daisies kicked her so hard just under her ribcage that she ended up with a hernia.

Also, her canine uppers are cracked & broken and the wee teeth on the bottom jaw had some broken off too. Her doc said it was hard kicking that did this to our sweetie. Thankfully she found her fur~ever purrents and now has claimed her rightful place in life: Queen of the Palace.

Last year the hernia got so, so much bigger so her Vet decided a surgical fix was necessary -- which, natch, we did. She had a lot of dental work and two teeth had to be extracted. Poor Angel had such a rough start -- and now a this check-up a molar presents as decayed and had to be removed.

We hope the canine teeth will hold out for a few more years. Sasha may one day need root canal work & caps & crowns (do they do this for our furkids?)...just like me, her KatMa.

Tomorrow, perhaps, Sasha will be able to come home. We find it difficult not having our furkid here with us... And we hope she won't spend a second night in the hospital.

Tomorrow evening I'll post on this board to tell hour our furkid, Sasha the Queen, is doing. She needs lots of hugs & kisses and your furkids' purrs & mewls to get her through this.

Our furkid, Sasha the Queen (look at left ear - orange side of face - notice no pointed tip 'cause it froze & fell off.! Other ear healed better).

Oh Sasha, you are so lucky you decided to adopt your KatMa and Paw-Paw. They love you so much and just want you to be happy in your new home. I know how it is when your furry one is spend the night at the whitecoats. You miss them so much. Don't worry Sasha will be home with you soon.

God, what an awful start Sasha had! Bless you for being there for her.

Oh Sasha, hope you'll be home soon to your loving purrents!!!

Nellie had a dental surgery last month...they had to clean her teeth from tatar (according to the shelter Nellie's eight years now!)...it was such a strange day, because due to the hot weather Nellie slept quite a very long time at the vets and it seems like a gazillion hours have passed until we brought her home again...but she is now a very happy cat and smiles to everyone again!!!

It's so wonderful to hear what a purrfect home Sasha has and I hope she'll have that big smile on her face, too when she returns home!!!

Fingers crossed for a quick recovery!:D

Purrs from Nellie!!!

Hi Sasha,
here is Filou. I am very experienced in dental work but I was never treated so badly as you when I was a baby kitten. But we, the cats, are clever! You picked the right humans for you and I can tell you: I did too.
I lost one of my canine teeth nevertheless. My mom says it would be more difficult for me to kill mousies outside but I can easily have moths for desert and anyway I prefer the nice food my mom brings me.
Your KatMa will give you the right food all the time. To see the dentist is very nasty but afterwards I always get rotten spoiled:)
You are now sleeping on a bed of roses as I can see and this is how it should be :)

P.S. The worst thing is you cannot eat a night before and a day after surgery and I really really hated that.

Sasha dear, I knew you had been abused but not so horribly. But you were so lucky to adopt your KatMa and Paw-Paw who love you so very much and take such wonderful care of you. I hope to read soon that you are back home in your palace where you belong. Gentle cuddles and pets for you.

Oh Sasha, I'm so sorry you had such a rough start in life. :( But I'm also so glad you finally adopted the right people, and they treat you like the queenie you are. You are such a pretty kitty, and like Barbara said, you're sleeping on a bed of roses, so life must be good. :D

T & P have never had any dental work done, although Peanut lost one of her canines. Don't know how or when, I just noticed one day that it was gone!  However, at about that same time, Tubby showed up with a big gouge out of his head, so I guess that means ultimately, Tubby's head was harder than Peanut's tooth. ;)

Can't wait to hear the good news that you're back at home and once again sleeping comfortable on your bed of roses with your KatMa and Paw-Paw. :)

Beautiful Sasha, are you home now? We also had to get our teeth cleaned a few months ago, but we were lucky enough to get out the same night. Our purrsons hate it when we're not on their bed!!

This is just awful to read what happened to poor Sasha - I knew she had been abandoned, but not this. She was a luckygirl to find you. She always looks so comfy and happy on your bed and in the cupboards you would think she had never been any other way. I hope she's back on her bed now.

Awwwwwww, Sasha, you are such a beautiful kitty. I'm so sorry you had to spend the night at the vet's office, away from your mom and dad. I know they missed you as much as you missed them. :( I hope you can come home today and that you will be feeling much better!

Your Serene Highness,

I have to go to the dentist this week too. I hope I won't have to stay over night!

Feel better soon!
