We're Keeping James!!!

YAY!!!!!! My husband has decided we can keep James! We decided yesterday as it had been a whole week.

Bailey has not had any accidents today, she had one yesterday. We think they are finally getting used to each other and that we can work with Bailey to get her past peeing in the apartment.

We went to PetSmart yesterday and bought James some of his own stuff. We got him a collar and a harness, some toys, and a new leash for the both of them. It is a double leash, so I can hook them both together, although we still have single leashes for each. It is so much easier to walk them on a double, I took them out last night and they did very well.

We also bought him a new slicker brush and shedding blade. We got so much loose fur off him yesterday and he just loved the attention.

Also, my husband decided this morning that he should join PetTalk too!:D His user name is Venger. :D

Thanks everybody! We just need to tell the couple who had him that we'll be adopting him. They get home from Charleston tonite. I'm sure both of them will be ecstatic, especially the husband, because he thinks they already have too many animals. (1 dog, 5 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 2 ferrets).

I'll probably just swing by there tonite after they get home and pick up his medical records and rabies tag.

I've also set up a vet appointment for Bailey and James tomorrow. No time to waste to make sure everything is ok with him. Plus Bailey loves seeing her vet. :D

Thanks for all the posts everybody and CamCamPup, thank you so much for the signature, that was so thoughtful of you!:D It's beautiful!

I just got back from the couple's house. I now have his medical records and rabies tags. I found out much more about his past. Apparently, he was running around stray in their neighborhood for two months. In their neighborhood, it's rough and when someone gets evicted, they just usually move and leave their dog!:mad: The couple has been taking in strays like that for the last two years! It took them the two months to get him to finally take food from them, then he got run over by a car. The couple found out about it from neighborhood kids, so they found him, took him to their house. They fixed him up and were caring for him for the last 6 weeks. He was mangy, starved so his ribs were showing and he had a hairline fracture in his right leg. I would so like to smack the crap out of those stupid people who left him...just take the dog to the SPCA! It's a no-kill facility and plus, we have at least 15 no kill dog rescues in the area!

Needless to say, the couple is ecstatic that we are taking him. So are we!:)

Oh, and sorry I forgot to reply CamCam, but we think he is a chow mix. It's just a guess from the texture of his fur, his color, and I've heard chows and chow mixes have dark spots on their tongues, which he has one spot, kinda big, towards the back of his tongue.

We are going with the name James for the time being, but my husband would like to name him something else.

Any suggestions?:)

I just rescued on July 2, and believe me, it's one of the best feelings I ever had! I was always hesitant about previous problems, but it;s nothing that you can't get through with love and devotion!! Looks like your hubby's made a new best friend...hard to resist!!! If you've been using James, I'd keep it, I really like it a lot!! Very masculine and formal" Jaaa..mes....Come!" I think it's a great name!!!! Bless you and your hubby for your hearts of gold and adding another furkid to the family!!!
