Well we're getting another gerbil, b/c we found a good breeder to get one from (thanks SO much Shell for convincing my dad!). But until then here are some pics of Murphy in his playpen. He is always out there in the day-time, he loves it. But sometimes it gets too hot to go outside with Murph, so we have to stay inside.

Anyway Murphy is so so tiny :eek: but so so cute :) so cute it is good he is in another country or I may try to steal him!!

And Flopsey looks like "queen of the castle" in her cage on the table (but where will you and your family eat now!!!!!!)

Shell- My dad told me that you gave him a breeder site and info on gerbils having companions. That concinved him! :D

That's just a little table out there. It basically had no purpose until now.

I also just placed Sage in her new cage, a 10 gallon tank, with tonz of aspen bedding to play and dig in and tonz of cardboard to chew on :D. I found out her favorite treat is rice cakes!! who would have thought.. :p

That's cool, Jynnelle. It sounds like she's really doing great. :D I never even thought about rice cakes, lol. I'll have to see if Murphy likes them. :)

Oooh, Britt - buy some Timothy hay, and put that in the litter box. Miss Hoppy thinks that wherever there's hay. that's where the litter box is. Bunnies will much the hay as they use the litterbox, and thw hay is good for them, too!

Rather than making a whole new thread, I thought I'd post it here: We got another companion for Murphy. His name is Mack and he is definetly a male. He is bigger than Murph, so we are introducing them slowly.

omg I love his markings!! they are so nice!! lucky Mack found his way into your home ;). I think it will be ok to house thenm together, try the split cage method first! if that doesnt work then humm.. lol good luck he is such a handsome boy !! he is a boy !! I can tell from the pic!! :D

Great pics! My rats' outdoor cage is almost exactly like Floppsy's cage! It's about the same size, but it is quite a bit higher off the ground. :) The wire spaces are 1.7 cm, so Icarus can squeeze his himself through :rolleyes:

Adorable pictures! Hey, I have the same pen thingie for my guinea pigs. I bought it at Wal*Mart, and they love it, although it breaks often, but it is easily fixable. :)

He is a spotted golden agouti :) I have one just like him (although with less white) called Whisky.

Here we can't by mesh divides so I have always made mine out of mesh, cardboard and lots of tape :o nothing as good as your set-up!!

Murphy and Mack see each other, and sometimes they put their paws on the divider, like trying to get through. I am scared to put them in the playpen today, in case they don't like each other. I bet they will like each other though, because now they are taking interest in each other and seem to want to "meet." :)

Yeah, we put them together today. They sniffed a lot, and Mack tried to mount Murph a few times ( :o ). It was scary, lol. But it didn't go that bad, so that's good. :)

Glad to hear Floppsey is an indoor gal now.........Just please really, really be careful of any interactions between her and your dog..... I can't tell you how many stories I am told about the dog and the rabbit being best friends when suddenly the dog accidently kills the bun while they are playing........ So please be careful...Floppsey is such a cute thing. ;)

Oh don't worry DaisyLover, when Floppsy is running around, the dog and cats aren't allowed on the porch. Lady would love to play with Floppsy, but she is just too rough. :(
