MULCH POISON

Cocoa Shell Mulch
(Forward Message)

A couple of days ago I sent various dog lists information received from the
UK about the death of a dog who ate a few pieces of this environmentally
friendly cocoa shell mulch that apparently contains the dangerous active
ingredient, theobromine. Apparently it smells very much like chocolate and
this can be a dog 'magnet'.

At the time it wasnt known if this new mulch was available in the US. It Is

We have reports from NJ and CA that it is available there in some Home
Depots. I just spoke to my local HD and so far they do not carry it. I
spoke to the Garden supervisor and he is passing the word along. Perhaps we
should all do the same before it become widely available.

Please pass this along.

I live in Canada so I don't know if we carry the stuff they are talking about. We are just fixing up our yard and adding a couple flower beds so Im going to have to check things out before my parents put anything down.

This letter was sent to me from a friend Bonnie she sends these kinds of letters and the dog rescue letters over so I can post them, she just doesn't have the time to come here and post things. It's to bad, she is an amazing person you guys would really like her.

I'll let you know if she hears anything more about it.
