Is 738 (area code 781) a US #? My friend who is visiting gave me this number to call him, and its not an island number -sigh- guess I won't be seeing him then lmao..

That area code is in Massachusetts. That's all I know :confused: All U.S. numbers have a three digit area code followed by a 7 digit number.

Sure that's his area code and not the first 3 digits? 783 in Indiana is south east. Try looking him up in the white pages on your 'puter!!:)

Aly, surely you mean a 781 exchange? Only one place can have an area code - and 781 is just west of where I'm typing this from.

US phone numbers go:

1- then Area Code (3 numbers) then Exchange (3 numbers) then four more numbers.

For example, 1-781-237-0066 is Miss Hoppy's Vet's office number!
