We are all moved and settled into our new place. Thanks to my friend who used to be in the Navy (makes her an expert at moving) I got all moved in and almost totally unpacked within one day! I didn't get my phone line until yesterday which is why I haven't been around much.

We are loving the new place, it's a little small but we are doing well. I personally am LOVING having an air conditioner. I forgot how much better it is than a swamp cooler. And since I get free utilities you can bet I'm keeping cool this summer.

How can I help mom?

I want to help too.

We need to explore a little more.

That's actually one of the reasons why I chose this apartment. With my allergies and so many of my friends being allergic to cats I figured it would be much better if I had tile floor even if it is only in the living room.

The Campbell's soup can is actually a desk clock. Except the hour hand broke during the moving process. But I think it looks cool so I put it out anyways.

Looks like they approve of the new place!

How dare your friend unpack you so quickly, how are the cats going to play in those boxes for weeks on end??? ;)

Glad to hear you are all moved in. How is Corkscrew doing now? He should know now that he is yours forever. :)

Jen we have been in the house for a little over a week now. And during this time Corkscrew has just been the sweetest boy. He seems so happy to be here with me, and I think he's happy that Sasha (my roommates cat) is no longer living with us. He's made himself right at home and he is doing great.

Congrats on the new place!

I'm moving next month and I was wondering...

Did you move the cats early to the new place, or keep them at the old one until you were nearly finished?

(I hate to think about Ally stuck in her carrier, but I'm scared she will get out and run away with all the chaos when people are moving the furniture. (The moving guys here don't speak much english, so I can't just announce "Don't let the cat out".

Did you move the cats early to the new place, or keep them at the old one until you were nearly finished?

I left Tibby and Corkscrew at the old place until I was almost done moving in to the new place. I knew that if I brought them early they would just have to spend hours locked in the bathroom to keep them from running out while I was bringing boxes in. I also thought it might be more stressful for them to bring them someplace new and have all my friends over helping me move and so much activties going on. Since my friends almost had me totally unpacked that first night, I went over at midnight to pick them up (we had to start moving in the late afternoon when it wasn't 111 degrees outside). I think it was easier on them since by the time I brought them over the new place was already full of familar smells and we spent that first night relaxing watching some tv before going to bed.
