I was wondering if anyone signed up for this and if not if you're planning on doing so.

We signed up for the Massaachusetts one, and our number of telemarketers calling dropped almost instantly to maybe one every couple weeks, instead of several a day!

I have not signed up yet, I probably will though. I'm not in any hurry right now because I just bought a caller I.D. for the same reason.

I am definately( if its spelled wrong who cares) going to sign up! I HATE them, but I have not got too many either as I hang up on them.

I say it is darn well about time something is done about them, but it is the phone company that sells your number to them, among others, so they can sell you call block and caller i.d and the telezapper!

Yep! I was one of the 1,000 per minute who signed up the first day. I was on the Kansas one and it really helped but wanted to be on the national one too. I also have caller id because "politicians" can still call. I don't want to talk to them either. Nothing they can say will make me vote for them, it's what they do or don't do.

I signed up and for my parents too. But, as with all rules, there are ways around it. We will still get some calls. We have Privacy Plus and Caller ID.

We want to sign up, but I lost the number to call  Do any of you have it? Or can you do it online?

I signed up immediately!!! As to caller ID, privacy, etc., I have the complete package, and it does NOTHING to the calls. They still get through. I am glad the government is doing this. While everyone has the right to make a living, they don't have the right to do it at my expense.

Yep, we signed up as soon as I found out about it.

I signed up online just last week. I heard that it won't take effect until Oct. 1st though. Here's the link for Californians http://www.caag.state.ca.us/donotcall/index.htm.

For the national one its: www.donotcall.gov
I signed up the first hour it was available.

I can't WAIT! I run a small business on the side, and have my home phone messages forwarded to my cel. There's nothing worse than getting THOSE messages in the middle of the day. Usually the same three over, and over, and over....

Yep! Mark waited for a few days, and then signed up. We don't get *that* many but the ones that do are always high pressure & ANNOYING!

I just signed up. I called the number first and it was in Spanish. Then I came in to use the computer. I got my answer from them right away.

I tried signing up but then I found out my mom already did. No wonder we haven't been getting any annoying phone calls! Aha! :D

For those of you who have signed up, REMEMBER that you need to renew it EVERY SIX MONTHS :)

We don't have anything like it in Australia ... but I have a silent number and have always found it good for keeping away the large majority of telemarketers and other suchlike.
