The author of Make Way for Ducklings has died at age 88. Not only was that a favorite book of mine (I also liked his Blueberries for Sal) and Paul's, it was a favorite book of his dogs Dukie and Lassie, who would pick it out from among all the books on his shelf to chew up!

Here's the story (http://www.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/books/07/02/obit.mccloskey.ap/index.html) .
