Since tomorrow is the kickoff for a holiday weekend here in the states and I believe the last day before Richard's vacation, I need to stock up!

The boys want a pitcher of iced catnip tea, please. I would like a pitcher of the coldest root beer you have. It's hot here. Then I would like fried chicken, potato salad (the mustard and mayo kind), cole slaw, and apple pie.
That will be good for a start anyway.

By the way, HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE!

Have a nice vacation Richard! I'll buy you a drink today but no driving!:D

Hmmmmmm....having trouble deciding. For now I think I'll order up my usual, a Caesar with celery stick and green olives stuffed with garlic. I did not do any celebrating for Canada Day so if permission is granted, I'd like to join in on your celebrations.

OOOOO - MOFF - fried chicken - now you've got my mouth watering!!!! For us Canuckleheads how but some real down-south food like grits and collard greens....or may some cajun shrimp.....or am I pushing the limit???:D :D

For Independance Day I would request a hot dog or hamburger with mustard & onions and an icy cold American beer. I'll be at the Washington DC National Mall for the fireworks with my son & his family as I am every year. High security these days take a bit of the carefree fun out of things :( but it's still a patriotic, feel good time. Bless America, whether it be God bless, doG bless or druid bless.

If you eat the sundae standing up then the calories don't stick to the ribs :D

I faintly remember cereal with milk but now I have my cereal with cold tea on it. Sounds awful but tastes pretty good. Lots better than dry cereal or cereal with water. :D

I use plain old regular tea. Sweetened is best unless you all ready have sugar on your cereal.

It's so hot here (heat index 102 and climbing) my cyber sundae melted!!! Seems I'm fated to have no milk in my life even in fantasy! :D

Then I'll hit the queue for a banana split with ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce and a maraschino cherry or three on top :)

RICHARD

shrimp, soy milk (actually pretty good)
and a glass of california's finest champagne for our
friends stuck in the throes of winter.....(i was wondering where you were!)

also cyber sundaes are fat free, have no calories and won't get your keyboards sticky!!!

p.s. 102 over here....it's a dry heat:rolleyes:

95 here. dry heat. my Swamp cooler is doing extra work....It's supposed to cool off in a few days, and then monsoon season begins. It's amazing what 10 or 15 minutes of rain does to the heat. It will cool down 10 degrees in just a few minutes.

The weather man on the radio announced, "Good news! Cooler than I predicted ... today's highs should be in the low 90s" -- got me to thinkin' how odd that must sound to "foreigners" (ie non-Southwest residents). 90s and that's LOW!? lol

I was in Las Cruces this time last year... remember stepping onto my balcony watchin' it pour rain down over the mountains. I miss my old apartment. LOL Year before last, we climbed the roof of my ex-roomie's boyfriend's apartment and watched the fireworks...awesome, as we had views of the whole town.

I'll take my dry-heat any day.... can't stand that durn humidity!!

It seems that every Thursday I'm reporting that we are either melting in the heat or freezing in the rain. But not today.
We're at 76F, or 24c right now. Once in a while we get it right.

Next round is on me:D

You must have grown accustomed to skim milk.
l never could.
I love milk too, but it has to be 1%.

So Richard, you dedicated hard working man.
I might have missed it, but have you decided
where you will be going on your postponed vacation?

P.S. If it is not to late,
I had my apple pie with ice-cream can
I now have a hot dog too and a lemonade to wash the
sweet taste down.?

Thank you

oh man....
i talked my brother into postponing his wedding a few weeks so i could go to the off road races which would fall on the same weekend as his wedding in vegas

big mistake........it was 113 degrees, we were dressed in tuxes...i took the wrong turn to get to the casino and had the worst ingrown toe nail in history....

talk about using extra deodorant!!!

i was sweating from the heat, getting lost and the limping from my toe, the looks my sis-in-law's mom gave me and being nervous..

i remember that i stopped sweating about two hours later....

my advice.........ELOPE!!!!

thank you catland!

i have tons of work to do here at home...
my favorite thing is to wake up early, do some yard work,
break for lunch, a few book pages, a nap and a few more
little jobs, a shower and a cold beer while the sun goes down.

i want to go to the beach and spend a few nights camping.....but at the moment i have my eye on the new gargage we put up....

lol....

i have a hammock and cool breeze in mind!!:)

The beach and Camping sounds so nice right now.
We had 3 digit heat today.
Laying in a Hammock with a cool breeze and
a pink lemonade sounds like heavon.
Especially after your Vegas wedding trip. lol

I WANT DRY HEAT TOO!!! Our humidity was 97 yesterday the temp was 95 and the heat index ended up around 110. We are in for another hotter round today. Talk about sauna!!!!

Here's a cool fruit smoothie (milk free) I make a lot, just in case anyone is interested.

Peel a banana and break into a few pieces and drop into a blender. Open an 11oz can of Mandarin oranges and dump it in, juice and all(check for seeds first). Mix together.

I had one this morning. Sure hits the spot on a hot morning!:D
