Poor Lolly pops. I had to rush her to the vet today because I found a rash on her belly, sores on her feet, and some scratches and swelling on her ears. Turns out she's having a bad reaction to the pollen in the air. I've noticed her chewing and licking her feet since its been getting warmer, and was going to take her to the vet soon. But when she went to stay at my mom's, I guess the pollen is really bad there because she got MUCH worse. She's on steroids, antihistamines, antibiotics, and fatty acids for a little while now. She also has to be a conehead while I'm not home to watch and make sure she doesn't chew her feet.

She did get some YUMMY treats for being SO GOOD at the vet. She was wonderful and the vet started to cry when I told her Lolly's story.. awww. She had a skin scrape to rule out other possibilities, and that all came back negative.

I just got her back from my mom's today. She'd only been there a few days and it got this bad. And she's inside all the time except on her walks and its still affecting her like this :(

Look at her pout:

It could also be a reaction to the grass if your Mom has different grass than you. We found out when we moved here that Chester's allergic to Bermuda grass. He's fine with St Augustine, so we changed the entire backyard 2 years ago! Usually a skin manifestation is from contact (grass, shrubs) or food. Pollen usually makes them sneeze & have watery eyes, just like us. Has she eaten any different foods?

Poor, pitiful baby. Hope you feel better soon. :( Chester says he understands the foot licking. He gets his pills in some peanut butter. :)

Opps micki.. I meant to say pollen or grass. Not sure which.. probably the grass, but there is a lot of pollen out at my mom's too. I don't know though.

I haven't changed her food or done anything out of the ordinary with her.

Poor Lolly girl ... you have my sympathies, as a person with pollen allergies I know how annoying they can be! At least nobody makes me be a conehead - the indignity of it all. We still love you Lollygal, honest.

As one itchy girl to another, Maddie says she can totally
sympathize with Lolly. She's had it about up to *here*
with pills and ear medicine and skin sprays and special
food. So hope poor ole Lolly feels better soon.

Oh no, ALLERGIES, I can relate. I have eaten shrimp all my life, Fried of course, ( I am not much of a sea food person,) Last Friday we went to Outback and had broiled shrimp as an appetitizer, by the time I got home I had hives from my feet to my scalp. Itching. I feel for Lolly Pop, I had to go to the emergency room and get a shot in the you know where. I do hope that Lolly Pop is feeling much better. Hugs and Kisses to her.

I think Skylar and Lolly were in cohoots last night! Skylar must've promised Lolly he'd take her "cone" off as long as he could use it as a toy :D

I woke up to this:

Poor Lolly!!! I've got the pollen/grass/mold spore blisters and itchies, too-don't tell my dermatologist he might put a cone on me to stop me from scratching, too.Get better-I found if I eat turkey it helps the itching-turkey has natural triptophane which makes you a bit sleepy(remember falling asleep after Thanksgiving din din?) a tiny piece wouldn't hurt-ask the vet first!! Sympathy reigns!!:)
