Animal Planet is going to count down the 50 greatest animal
stars in the history of TV on June 14th at 7pm CT. It's hosted
by Mario Lopez. Anyone wanna lay bets that Lassie is number
1?;)

I love pet stars. :)

Lassie, Babe, Rin Tin Tin, Benji, Hooch, Wilbur (the talking horse), Snow Dogs, Grizzly in 'Legends of the Fall'.....

ohhh! I know I'm missing some. (42 to be exact ;) )

Lets see if we can get our own list going and after the show we can see which ones made AP's list. :D

Don't forget Morris the Cat, Clarence the cross-eyed lion, the dog from "Coach" (sorry, I don't remember his name), or the bird from Barretta.

It will be fun to see how many we name.

hiya catland!

I can't remember Luther's dog's name from Coach, but I'm
pretty sure the bird from Baretta was named "Fred".

And another one to add... "There's no need to fear...
Underdog is here!":)

Was Luther's dog named Quincy?

yes that's it, the dog's name was Quincy - which was also the name of my RB kitty.:(

On a cheerier note - Comet the horse from Brisco County. - OK, the show was only on for one season, but he was a cool horse.

Fred. J. Muggs - I believe that was the chimp on the Today show in the early 50's.

The Taco Bell dog.

there's still a lot that we're missing.

In the commericals for it, they keep showing Kermit the Frog, Big Bird and Animal, so I think carttons and puppets must count :)

hi kfamr!

Santa's Lil' Helper was on the list, but I don't remember seeing
Wishbone. There were quite a few chimpanzees on the list,
that I don't remember at all, that could have been left off for
some more memorable animals.

I would have to vote Scooby Doo #1 since i watched it every day after school. #2 would have to be Bugs Bunny. My favorite episode was when he played baseball against the gorrillas. Now playing 1st base Bugs Bunny, Pintching Bugs Bunny. And my honorable mentio would be Hooch from Turner and Hooch!! I love that dog.
