Im not sure about Findlay, but i like to go on Saturdays, most of the "regulars" are always there on saturdays, and Molly and Daisy love their dogs.:)

I have no preference. I can make it either day.

Saturday would work out better for me with the drive time, but I could make it either day!

I'm not sure yet how likely it is that I'll be there, but if I *do* I'd prefer a Saturday. We'd be more likely to be driving home on a Sunday because of traffic.

I personally appreciate the fact that you are voting for Sunday vs. Saturday. I would vote Sunday, because I work on Saturday, but I did not vote because no matter how you look at it, for me it is a 9 hour drive. And I cannot stay over night unless I want some unhappy (unfed cats). Would not dream of burdening anyone with the request to feed and care for so many, and I have not yet learned to trust the "pet sitting services" that come to the house.

I hope you all have fun.

Well, I voted for Sunday again. I work Saturday evenings so I wouldn't be able to stay as long as I normally do if it was on a Saturday. But I will come either day:)

We've gotten a lot of *votes* - with only a few supporting posts.
PLEASE - when you *vote* - also *POST* your vote so we're sure we
include everyone who wants to come.

But if you can't possibly come (on either Sat OR Sun)...
*please* don't cast a vote.

And if one day is really GOOD; and the other will mean you can't come...
Be sure to SAY that!
Some of us who can be flexible and don't "really" care - would be happy
to *change* our vote later to accomodate folks who can only come on one day.

That said ~
Phred's Gang voted for SUNDAY 'kuz...
* gives us a day to take *baffs* & brushez.. :(
* shuvvel da dawg hare outta da kar..
* wipe da noze printz offa winnowz..
* gas da kar & kick da tyres..
* bake da chocka-chippy kookiez.. :)
* annnd... we *thunk* mosta da Gang liked doin it on Sunday!

***BUTT*** We WILL come on either day!!

And for thoze who've never made it to one of theze PT Bark Park Gathurinz...
Yur missin a really *NICE* day of Phunn & Phrollik fur both
da Hoominz anna FurKidz!!

We'll re-post the instructions to *find* the Park on MapQuest below;
and MapQuest will also give you turn-by-turn driving instructions,
and calculate the mileage and driving time from you howze to da Park!

*Finding* the Dawg'z BarkPark in Hancock Parks - Findlay, Ohio

For you Out-of-Townerz trying to find the BarkPark ~

You're looking for the "K-9 Field of Dreams Dog Park"...
Located behind Pavilion # 7,
inside the Hancock (County) Parks "Riverbend Recreation Area"...
Just SOUTH of Ohio route 568...
On Marion Township Road 208...
about 5 miles South West from downtown Findlay, Ohio.

If you follow the instructions below (from another Thread) -
You can see and/or Print (must use a color printer) a series of Very
Detailed area maps that show all the local Township, County, and
State roads. You might want to shift (left & right; up & down) slightly
to see all the township road Numbers and Names on the zoomed-in
maps - but the zoom-in detail is excellent!

And ALL the important intersections *DO* have signs with either the
Road Name or Number!! But read the WHOLE sign! As you get close -
ALL the signs start with "MARION" followed by the road NUMBER! (Dad
wuz thunkin there wuz a Lotta roads named "Marion".)

If you ask someone for directions - be sure to say "RiverBEND" Park -
there are several other little parks in the Hancock Parks District with
names starting with "River..."

On most highway maps, the Findlay Reservoir appears as a rather large,
square shaped Lake - south-east of the City of Findlay. Good
Landmark! The Dog Park is within a quarter mile of the north-east
corner of that Reservoir!

Go to: http://www.mapquest.com

Click on their *Maps* link - you'll get a fill-in-the-blanks form ~

In "Address/Intersection" - type in "township 207 and township 208"
(without the quotes).

In "City" put Findlay; in "State" put OH;
no Zippy Code required.

MapQuest will pop up a super-zoomed-in little map -
shows a square corner of the reservoir and the two
roads Twp 207 & Twp 208...
Just about where the "208" block is shown is almost *Zaktly* where
the BarkPark iz, just below or south of where Twp 208 hangs a 90
degree turn to the left (west)!!

You can use the "Big Map" clicker [in the Upper-RIGHT corner of the
MAP] to blow things up and cut down on the ads showing... then
Zoom Out to get a better idea of "where" you are.

Zoom out slowly - too many jumps and you'll be seeing half of the USA!
-----------------------
NOW - when you finish lookin atta Maps - you can ask MapQuest
to Calculate Driving Time, Mileage, and a
turn-by-turn set of instructions...
*Click* on "Driving Directions" and fill in
your Home Address...
MapQuest will do the rest! :D

I did not cast a vote becuase either day works fine for us.

I would sorta like to have a final decision made by tomorrow night is possible so that I can put a check in the mail Friday. From my understanding we can change it later, as long as we use the shleter before the end of the year (and the shelter is available )

I have a "nosey" question.... is there a reason for the 12 & 13 and not another date?

SW Airlines will be running a special in a couple of weeks... I *might* be able to make it...

I'd have to make sure my invitation to stay at the 5 Star Keegan & Kylie hotel was/is still valid. ;) (getting off work won't be a problem... scheduling around my grad. class will be...)

Any rate, just curious as to 'why' the 12th/13th. :)

(I didn't vote... whatever you guys work out is ok. If I make it, I make it. If I don't, I'll catch ya guys some other time -- maybe in the Fall. I HATE humidity! lol)

I did not vote because either day works for us.... ALTHOUGH, I may not be able to make it at all because of a Con in Toronto.

Hey Zipp - we kan be *flexible* ;)

Dunno how THAT weekend was actually *picked* - other than it was not 4th of July weekend - the thought was the weekend of the 4th might be a "Human Family" weekend, busy on the highways, etc.

WHAT DAY would be Good for you - or don't you know when the Airline Special is running, yet?
One problem - which is hard to predict - is the availibility of the Pavilyun #7 - which is the shelter right in front of the Bark Park Yard. There are only two small shelters in the immediate area - and #7 is the more desirable of the two. (Other one is a longer walk from the Bark Park Yard!)

Sooo - SERIOUSLY! - Let us know if and WHEN you could come...
LUV ta have Ya!!!!

Long range plans - we're *thinkin* bout a Labor Day weekend Gathurin at Findlay... no firm plans, yet.

So let us know - Quick-Like, Zipp!

Yes!!! Even if you don't have a doggie and usually only have time to check the cat side of the site. Most of the doggies I knew because their hoomans post on the catside too, but it was such a pleasure meeting those I didn't know!

It would really be neat if we could include the kitties somehow, but I really don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. ;) :D :(

I didn't vote because a two day weekend isn't enough time for us to make the trip, but Labor Day might be a possibility! And I think Labor Day weekend would be great for those who will be traveling some distance. Saturday travel day, Sunday doggie day, Monday travel day. Worked out great for us this last weekend, and hopefully it will draw from a bigger pool of people who live somewhat close, but not close enough for a two day weekend. :D

The 12th-13th is actually one of the better weekends in July for us. I would like to try and take Sadie to a freestlye competetion the5th and we go to Disney and will be leaving on the 26th. However, that certainly does not mean anything has to be planned around us!

I am going to send in the deposit tomorrow, although it is looing like Sunday is the preferred day for the "regulars" I do not yet know if #7 is open that day. My understanding is that we can change the date of the reservation with no penelty, aslong as it is used before Dec. 31

We're trying to please as many folks as possible...

"Many" had no preference; but a few requested it be held on Sunday...
and it seems like no one said they couldn't come if it was held on Sunday...

We've contacted all the "regulars" - those who've attended the last two Gathurins - and took guidance from several more "possible attendees" - Sunday seems best for the most folks.

So Amy reserved "our" Pavilion #7 again for

~ SUNDAY, JULY 13, 2003 ~

And for all those folks who need a lil more than two days to make it to Findlay and back home...
We're seriously considering Anudder Wun to be held over the 3-day
Labor Day Holiday Weekend - August 30/31 & September 1
That will allow the long-haul folks to travel on Saturday -
Bark Park on Sunday - and return home on the Holiday Monday.

If you just can't make Sunday, July 13 -
Please consider joining the Pet Talk Gang over the Labor Day weekend!!

SEE Y'all at da Bark Park!! :D
