Yesterday someone accidently steped on my bunny blessing. now all she can do is lie arround and look sad.I can't figgure out what is wrong with her. She can still kick with her back feet' but she won't stand on them. I felt for broken bones but nothing feels wrong. She dosen't seem to be in pain, but just sits around. Can any one help her?

We can't find a vet that dose rabbits that is open today. Blessing is getting a runny nose so i started to give her an antibiotic. Her brother Joshua died last Friday. (Joshua belonged to my 7 year old brother) i wonder if that has anything to do with it. Joshua dided of some kind of runny nose. He was only 8 mo. old.

Kristen,

Before you get him put down check it is actually a broken back. No-one can properly diagnose a problem over the phone.

A vet who can see and examine your rabbit is the answer (I don't like the name "rabbit farm" sounds like someplace they raise rabbits to eat).

Maybe there is hope for her? Or perhaps the runny nose is the sign of some contagious disease.

I got him checked out last night, and they said it was a broken back and if i did'nt put her down she would lay on her side and her intestin would rot. So i went ahead and let them put her down.:( i cried almost all night. Now i am trying to decide weather to addopt Blessings sister who came from the same litter and looks exactly like her or to get a new baby one.

Oh dear, that's what I was afraid of. Their spines are so delicate. Why not wait a day or so, then decide. Another bunny isn't going to be Blessing, even if they look alike, that's no indication of personality inside!

For the sake of the rabbits, don't adopt any more.

I agree, I think getting another bunny is a very bad idea...you've had 2 too many unnecessary problems.

It doesn't matter WHO stepped on the bunny and broke her back, the fact is that it happened and it was the second unnecessary rabbit death in your household. Bunnies are incredibly delicate and not for everyone. I am pleased to see that you recognize that.
